Once the movie is over, you leave the cinema...
That is what i am doing, as i have the full set i now have extra disk space and more time to play other games.
Removing things from a game with an established player base is only a bad thing. Some will appreciate it. The majority will either be offended or choose to be. Adding things, and building, does not require the surgical removal of parts of the game some loved.
This is, however, Bethesda's policy in regard to "fixing" things that all consumers need to be aware of before they give them money. It's a bad policy. It only respects their profits in the short term so it's terrible business practice as well.
I'm not saying I hate it but I have my eyes narrowed and I see what they're doing here.
This is why people like ladydevann were important. As far as I'm aware she was involved in the scoreboard and things like the radio plays.
Notice how after she was sacked we got seasons?
I won't hide that I was extremely disappointed with this forum and the response to the thread I posted trying to say thanks. But now everyone can see the impact of that departure and all I can say is "Stiff ♥♥♥♥", you all get what you deserve.
Seemingly, there are charts in Steam that show the player stats for games. I haven't checked, but it would be interesting to see over the next few days/weeks if players are no longer playing FO76 due to the removal of the scoreboard etc...
Only it won't work that way, Xbox is now in control.
If the game was no longer profitable no matter how much BGS would want to hold on, if Xbox decided to shut the door there is nothing that could be done.
It has already almost happened in the past. There have been email leaks that Phil Spencer was considering passing on FO76 if it didn't get 10 million monthly active users. It took offering the game on PSNow to save it.
With Starfield and Redfall being flops you can be sure Xbox wouldn't hesitate to punish BGS if FO76 started to lose players.
I feel this monetization is a final ditch effort to get some funds. With the TV show imminent there might be a slight boost in players but they are probably short term, so milk them asap.
Steam is NOT required to play Fallout 76, only PCs with Steam running is counted.
It also does not include either console.
Just because someone is not playing does not mean their reason is because of the scoreboard change.
Which I still do not even understand the whole scoreboard complaint, they gave players freedom to choose their awards, but people hate it? The main rewards are all still there, just a lot of the misc stuff that nobody used stopped being throw in.
They removed the actual Scoreboard decoration.
I have all 15 of them displayed on my wall, and that one single item was really the only reason I had left to play this game after all this time.
The new Painting thing they are using instead does not interest me, so for me personally its time to move onto another game.
We hate it because it shows zero effort. They can't be bothered to add Story content to expand the world.. Now they can't be bothered to put creative effort into Scoreboards and themes.. One more zero effort cash shop I didn't ask for, which will be a rip off in the end.. One more endless grind for trash.. All I want is the Perk Points for Legendary Perks..
Change for the sake of change to dumb down something that was already dumb down so much.. It's pathetic and screams we don't give AF, and give less of AF every day.
