Confused with Vault 79

i'm puzzled how to enter V79.

according to Fandom, it's better not to enter some sectors before finishing "Secrets revealed", so you can loot many things up there, then thoses places will be unreachable.

Thus, i did not finished that quest yet (just have the final to achieve), but completed the Grafton Pawn Shop one.

The problem is that when i enter via the cave a little away, i get to the place with workshops, nothing eerie to find there. i found no way to open the Shelter's door.

Have you talked with the Overseer and started down the quests with the raiders and settlers?

You will want to follow both quest lines until you get a quest “side with crater/foundation”. At that point you pick a side to raid the vault with and quests will lead you inside.

well i advanced both, i talked to Foundation & Crater leaders, but i left the last mission aside because of what i say in my subject post. I feared i would lose some content if i completed them.

So, if i make Secrets Revealed with Foundation, i will have access to all the content ?

(i'm still confused about a part of V79 that gets unaccessible at a point)

The only things of any interest you seem to lose access to are the notes and holotapes scattered around the area you lose access to. If you're really worried and do want all those, just make sure to grab them all before finish the quest.

As for entry, according to the wiki, there should be an entrance terminal somewhere in the same cavern for the main door, and as for the cabin, you only gain access from there once you finish the quest.

There are 2 separate questlines once you choose which faction to go with. I did crater and there were about 5 quests before we got to the vault. you will lose out on those quests for the other faction when you choose.

If you want to play all the content, you need to do it with two characters. 1 time when sided with Fondation and 1 time when sided with the Crater.

In all cases, do the two factions quests until you have to choose one side. Precious "Reputation" earnings like that and some rewards too ... .

Same thing (with two characters) for all the content of the "new Appalachian BOS chapter" quests, 1 time sided with Rhamani and 1 time sided with Shin.

@lucg: NP, i raise 5 chars and 2 are going to be on the Raiders side. My main will go for the Colons and will complete the quest this week end.

This (under) got me confused, but i suppose they mean after completing "Secrets Revealed", loot everything before entering the lift. i'm sure i will take the wrong lift and mess the whole thing up, as usual :) )

Anyway, i'm still not sure if things may be goten before finishing Secrets Revealed.
I haven't seen any holotape or valuable notes in the room with the workshops, that is the only place i can go to yet.

After completing the Secrets Revealed quest, the Vault's interior apart from the gold Vault operations becomes inaccessible. Any items the player character wishes to obtain (such as the holotapes and notes) must be acquired before entering the elevator, which will take one to Appalachia instead of the Vault after the quest is complete.
