How do you milk Brahmin?

I walk up to one but there's no prompt.

Happens to me too. There is a cool down time for milking them again. So if there is no prompt you probably just need to wait.

I also get the prompt showing up but the cool down is not over so it won't work. Similar to the way flowers will be back on bushes but you cannot pick them even with the prompt showing.

Approach slowly from the side and be sure to warm the hands first.

Dunno what is up with that. Maybe try other different locations. The brahmin at the Wayward and Flatwoods are very popular and get milked regularly from low levels who have no radaway. Maybe you are just unlucky and they are always on cool down when you are trying.

Forgot to say that it is not a 100% chance to always get some either. Even when you get the prompt to milk sometimes they will kick and you get no milk.

Jokes aside, Brahmin are probably hermaphrodites. I'm sure they have a 'male' and 'female' head, yet... all named Brahmin only have 1 name. Chally could go either way but Minerva's Brahmin, Minos[en.wikipedia.org] is clearly male (Named after the father of the Minotaur).
