So... Water well is a waste
I confess, I didn't google or anything and just bought the Water well plan, hoping it would provide me with fast dirty water (to make into boiled for various stuff) since my base is away from any puddles or rivers or lakes.

But not only it plays a SUPER LONG animation each time you use it, but also only gives you ONE water for each of this long animations. Even longer than the basic Water pump thing!

Much easier to just go to a nearest pool of water and spam collect instead. Don't waste your gold on the Water well plan unless they change it to give you multiple dirty water over just one per use.

UPDATE:
Just to clarify - this is the Plan that you buy from the Foundation rep vendor, for 750(I think?) gold.

Water purifiers give you purified water.

Doesn't help if you're trying to cook something with Boiled though.

I think you can circumvent this by placing the water well in such a way that its 'Access point" that is, the point where you go for the animation, is obstructed, or perform the action in Power Armor.

100% "well" deserved for doing zero research.

They can take it. You can put a lock onto it, up to level 3. They can pick it if they have the skill still but I think it makes them wanted.

Oh, it's another water pump? I thought it was a purifier too.

Oh well, didn't get it anyway. It does give a more farm/homey feel to camps though.

Buying something in game really shouldnt require internet research beforehand.

That said, unfortunately you really should google anything before buying it from the ATOM shop. Especially bundles, since they love showing off things in the pictures that are not included.

I actually didn't try to do it without power armor lol. But it plays the animation by itself regardless, wasting all that time.

Wasn't from the atom shop. It is one of the items you buy from the Foundation, at the settlers reputation vendor.

I wish the soil floor pieces would work with the hand pump, well, and small purifiers like in FO4. It was fun to have a 3x3 hand pump soil tile on the third floor of a settlement out of harms way.
