Questions about Wastelanders (reputation, Bullion, etc.)
Hi.

Before Wastelanders and i had 400 hours on the clock with two chars that both finished the main story. And now i'm diving into Wastelanders. I chose settlers for my first char, and robbed the vault yesterday evening. Which evolved into several questions about the things to do now.

- The SS guy in the vault told me that his colleague is selling military stuff for bullion, but when i talked to him, i only got a normal dialogue and no option to buy or sell things.

- Same with Foundation. I read, that you have access to plans for bullion with rising reputation. After you finished the storyline, the reputation is now friendly (?!?), but i can't find any bullion merchants in Foundation.

- I found one daily quest which involved finding some stolen equipment, and got some stuff for completing it, including reputation for the settlers and treasury notes. I was able to convert those notes into bullion with the gold stamp machine (looks like a daily cap of 20 treasury notes). Which leads to more questions: Is there only this single reputation quest per day? How do i get more of the treasury bonds besides the daily quest?

- What is the good stuff you should buy for bullion? My settlers character is a sneak sniper and my heavy gunner will work with the raides (want to see both lines). I already got the plans for the chinese stealth suit for free (and built it), but i don't really see the advantages in it. Are there legendary versions of the suit ( i *guess* not, but questioning doesn't hurt), or can i mod it?

I guess that's it, many thanks in advance for your answers :-D

Vault 79 - Regs sells gold plans
Foundation is the guy by the gold machine Samuel (which is 200 daily, not 20)
Crater is the robot inside by Meg

Can also buy bullion in the Wayward at 1,000caps per 50 gold per week (max 300 gold)

Dailies for rep :
1. Ward in Foundation - retrieve something using tracker
2. Rocksy OR Wren in Crater - kill raider or get vacuum tubes
3. Ohio River adventures (Raider) - turn in mirelurk meat
4. Davenport robot in Overseer's House basement - can choose raider or settler, or turn in to him

Treasury Bonds are rewarded for all events that have a ! on them. I believe the amount is based on location (ie. Forest events pay less than Cranberry Bog events, but I think it is only 1 less).

What to spend it on depends. I'm buying up the Secret Service armor pieces from Regs. You need Legendary Modules from the Purveyor, but they can roll 3 star legendary when you craft them.

The Secret Service guy only talks till the quest is properly finished, then you can buy from him. In Foundation, look for Samuel, he's near the gold press machine. Both factions have a daily quest and you can also do events for treasury notes. As for good stuff, so far I've only bought the chemist backpack mod, which effectively saved me 3 perk points.

Thanks for the answer, but it doesn't clarify much ;-D
I know that Regs is the one that should sell me stuff, but he has no option for trading.
Samuel has no trading option, too.
Treasury bounds are limited to 20, not 200. Those 20 result in 200 bullion.
Are those raider dailies in any way interesting for a settler player? Can i get up both factions when i drove away Hijack from the Penny hostage situation? But i will look into the Overseer's robot.
Ok, the events make sense, i will watch after them.
So, the SS armor from the SS guys roll anything from 1* to 3*? Ah, i will look at it.
If you don't have the options for trading with them, you must not have finished the quest? Once done you are asked if you want to keep all the 1,000 gold or give half to the side you sided with... have you done that?

Treasury bonds are only limited in how many you can trade for gold per day, but you can you can stockpile as many as you want to use on other days.

You can do both sides faction quests, and you should since they are easy and also reward treasury bonds.
You can and should be building reputation with both factions. Higher reputation unlocks different items from their vendors.

If possible you should do both faction quest lines up to “side with xxx”. That gets you better reputation so you don’t have to grind as much with the two dailies. Once you “Side with” you can’t slide with the other team for the raid and the leader will yell at you. But that’s it.

I’m not sure why the gold vendors aren’t trading with you. Before you do the quest they don’t offer a trade, but once you’ve finished the raid and kept some gold it has always flipped their options for me.
GOD, i'm so dumb. The missing hint here was that the trade is *not* triggered via a dialogue option (i have 150 hours of Witcher 3 right behind me) but with another action button. They are the only NPC's that have both options (dialogue and trade), and my muscle memory is pressing the right button on normal merchants without me thinking about it. So yeah, problem solved.

We've all done mindless things on occasion. Good to know you've gotten it figured out and it wasn't a bug.

A. Donating your gives bonus rep when available for some of the dailies.
B. You can let the raider keep the stolen item for raider rep, but lose settler rep.
C. You can convince the Former Raider to join Foundation for settler rep.
D. You can convince the Former raider to return to Crater for raider rep.

Random encounter with raiders and settlers can give rep for killing the nearby mobs. It takes 20 of these to equal one daily.

Ok, this helps even more, but rises additional questions.

- I retrieved the stolen tech for the settlers, donated the money to foundation. No problems here.

- I retrieved the needed tech for the raiders, repaired it (necessary or just a better reward?), but did not donate the money and got raider rep. You mean, if i donate the money for the crater, i will get negative rep for the settlers, but if i handle it like i did everything is fine?

- I had two quest goals with the hunting quest. The first is to deal with the deserted raider, the other to deal with the other hunter's (optional). I convinced the hunter to leave the target to me, but meanwhile the raider reached foundation (and therefore finished the quest). As i returned the quest, i lied that i killed him and got raider rep.
Is this quest always timed, so i have to be fast to reach the raider and convince him to join foundation to get settler rep? And how do the other hunter's interfere if i don't handle them?

And OH BOY, i just got my first look at the wares Regs has to offer oO It's a little bit different from the few plans Samuel sells.
So again, how do those plans work (in this case the SS armor)? I buy the plan for bullion, and when i want to craft them, i need the legendary modules and i get a legendary version out of it?
I see a lot of bullion grnd in my future :-D

No.

You could have let the raider keep the item with a CHA 6 and gain raider rep and lose settler rep.

I ignore the hunters even exist.

You can convince the raider to return to Crater with STR 8 for bonus raider rep.
You can convince the former raider to join the settlers with Settler your reputation (Neighborly or Friendly) or a CHA of 8 or 12 for bonus settler rep.
