Can flux be found outside a blast zone?
I was collecting raw flux inside a blast zone because that's when I thought you could get it. But when the zone cleared up and it was no longer a blast zone, I could still get flux from the same flowers. For example, flash fern gave me raw violet flux and blast berry gave me crimson flux. Can these still be collected when it's not a blast zone? How about the other needed ingredients like glowing mass and hardened mass? I'm guessing those can only be found in a blast zone.

As far as I know, after the circle vanishes you still have about an hour or half an hour to do your thing. N' yes, hardened and glowing masses are blast zone items.
I collected a bunch of the raw flux but I don't have any more hardened and glowing masses. Will the raw flux spoil if I don't use them (craft them into stable flux) right away?
It spoils pretty quickly.
How about the hardened and glowing masses? Will those spoil too?

Is it just the raw flux that spoils? How about stable flux? I had stable flux in my inventory for a long time (I don't even remember how I got it) so I'm guessing that the stable flux doesn't spoil, or does it?

Stable flux will stay, the raw however will not.

You may have gotten it from SBQ event if you didn't make it yourself.
Don't forget to use Green Thumb when picking flux for double flux, and Super Duper + Chemist when stabilizing it for extra stable flux.
Humanoid creatures typically drop masses and fluids. You won't find them outside blast zones. Nuke Whitesprings or Charleston.

I'd recommend nuking WS or Charleston first and stocking up on masses and fluids. Once you have your desired amount, then search around the same area for some flora. If you can't find enough flora, then nuke a farm area and go ham on gathering a bunch of raw flux.

There's a good spot up in the north east area of the map for flux. It's not far from the Red Rocket location. Couple of farm plots.
There is a glitch where nuked plants remain after a nuke zone expires.

However the plants usually do no good because you are almost always short on highly radioactive fluids.
Once a raw flux spoils, then does it become inert flux? And can that be used for anything other than eating it?

Makes a brown paper bag when you drop it.
