Not going to promote certain discords, but they are out there.
I'd suggest Dungeons & Dragons Online, Guild Wars 2, or trying out random Multiplayer servers in Project Zomboid.
I'd say you have a much better chance with this game than most:
The good news is you won't have to mess with discord.
The bad news (for introverts) is you'll have to use in-game voicechat.
The not so bad news is only people on your team will hear you so it's a very personal experience.
The best news is its easy to add friends and find them later.
The worst news is if more than 4 of you want to play together too bad and you'll be forced back to discord.
edit: Now I'll answer the other part of your question. If you're that intolerant of running into people who are different than you then video games might not be for you.
I appreciate your input but I would like to address that last part. It's not about being intolerant of people that are different than me, it's about not wanting to deal with trolls and toxicity, there's a difference. Perhaps I should have made that more clear in the post. But thanks nevertheless.
I perfectly understand what they meant. Games are an escape. Running into morons who spout politics or other taboo subjects can be an unpleasant experience. For those whom are exhausted, an even worse one when it happens within their outlet from the real world. The OP however was interested in the possibility of making friends and if you haven't checked the manual lately, that entails getting to know potential suitors beyond the dermis level. In my evaluation the OP was asking for a safe space more than overcoming introversion, but I took the time to provide input for both questions.
most of the issues you will encounter will be here in the discussion boards (go figure), but in the game itself with the lack of text, it's fairly uncommon.
Everyone else took it as an introvert wanting to know if the game has a decent community for making a friend or two, or if there was a significant amount of toxic people.
You "massaged" the meaning of his words to insinuate he was intolerant of people who are different from him and wanting a safe space instead of overcoming introversion.
I'm not sure what you think introverts are, but it's not a negative trait that needs to be overcome. Introversion is just as normal as extroversion.
I'm not about to explain what introverts are if you can't properly understand I wasn't being negative. I was being accurate.
"most of the issues you will encounter will be here in the discussion boards"
why is this and argument issue?
Uh huh.
Fallout 76 PvP only exists on the forums now.
It's in my nature as a hyper-competitive individual. Their queen's gambit however, was no match for my albin.
