Hidden vendors at players camps - Why
What is the point of selling your items and then hiding your vendor in your camp somewhere, were players are unable to find them. Seems pointless and a waste of time.

I just paid caps to visit a camp who's camp was selling over 300+ plans and I though they be something in there for me, sadly I reached the camp and for the life of me, could not find the vendor anywhere no matter how high or low I looked.

Thankfully, he has a water machine on hand for me to recoup my lost caps.

Some people are too clever for their own good.

I've noticed that a good amount of vendor station skins are pretty incognito. It can be anything from some random robot to a cash register, and most people are too dumb or impatient to look around for it

It's one of the many things players don't think about when placing their shop. Just because you made your base and know where everything is, does NOT mean someone who has never been to your base, knows that your shop is hidden 3 floors up and behind 2 doors. Make it obvious. Make it painfully obvious; Arrows, lights, spell it out with glowing letters.

When I do place a vendor in my own camp from time to time. I use the big vendor and place it in front of the camp. So it can't be missed.

Yeah and it's not like you also have access to signs and crap to make it obvious or anything
/s

If someone plunks down a cash register but then does nothing to indicate where it is, unless it's absolutely obvious, that's very much on the camp owner and not the visitor.

Because caps are near meaningless given you can be at max caps in a day or two.

A lot of players are not willing to compromise the aesthetic of their camp to appease vendor hoppers who get pissy if it takes longer than 4 seconds to find the vendor.

I need to know the secret to maxing out on my caps. Im always poor, I got a aristocats fixer waiting for me at +50% damage with 25% damage while aiming and +1 per with 40% armor waiting for me to become a capzillionaire.

When I do sell, I think the problem I have is that I price my good too cheap just for a quick sale. Im not interested in holding onto items just to make a extra 1k in caps, but I won't purchase goods from other player vendors for silly amounts either.

PS... I did purchase both rare backpack plans for around 5k each tho... the gorilla and the crocolossus backpacks, the crocolossus being my favourite backpack of all time:steamhappy:

This, ive seen some people build like a bar or a store front and use cash registers as vending machines and if you didnt know that cash registers are vending machines you could easily walk right past it.

I personally have mine next to my front porch and even then I got people trying to go into my home in game even though when facing the front door its to the right of my wrap around porch. Its not exactly hidden and I would put some kind of lighting to indicate heres the vending machine but the porch camp pieces wont allow anything to be stuck to the posts it says the item is floating.

couple reasons for not adding indicators, one is that they have no more camp space to build anything to do so, or in my case there is no way to attach indicators to the porch pillars as they dont exist items say they cant be placed as they are floating. Otherwise I would have put some neon lettering up on the post to direct people even though it is very obvious when you view my home from the front.

pricing can be hit and miss. I end up sitting on items for a bit before they sell. I found out that its easy to sell during big events when a bunch of people come back into the game like the holiday or halloween scorch events for example. I can have my vending machine wiped out multiple times then but rest of the year its hit and miss on selling items.

Not to mention many vendor hoppers tend to only do so just to buy up cheap loot to then relist it on their vending machine for an insane amount. I did that once just cause I saw a deal I couldnt pass up, guy was crafting and selling mutation injections for 100 caps a pop and I needed to unload caps so I bought 5 of each he had and threw them in my vending machine for default price of 2000 caps a pop. They wont sell quick but they will help me make some caps as I constantly drain my cap stash down to 5000 to build it back up to 30000 easily.

My guess is they were using the vending unit as extra storage and didn't want to genuinely do business.

I make about 10k a month. Anything priced over 1000 is about 9% of my sales. Food is my biggest loss leader. First aid supplies sell the most often, and wardrobe items have the highest profit margins. Weapons and armor make up about 30% sales. People don't need them as often as you think. They want Collectables, Plans, Bobbleheads, and Stims.

Just pick EVERYTHING up, and sell to the NPC vendors. 1400 caps/day.
