There is an actual river down the left side of the map with islands. I've seen a few CAMPs on those.

The big lake over by Thunder Mountain has a lot of really good CAMPing area.

But you can make it look like it is, takes awhile but I have 4. Only have to have the Hull just touching the bank or on a drift or rock. Seen some nice fishing camps. Some place'e already have one boat there and you can put up to 3 I think. I put 2 Boats and the Pirate boat in some of mine.

This. My main base is placed at Twin Lakes at I never once needed to change location until CAMP slots were a thing, and I didn't use the free slot until months later and it was just south from Twin Lakes.

There is a unmarked Settler fishing area in the north west of the map. It has nets and 2 settlers that walk around. It's not too far from the lumber mill, I think...

I don't have specific coordinates and tbh don't know if you can build a camp there.

Another option is nets at a random encounter point north on the Ohio River (western Forest).

Along the west river of the forest at the edge of the map has a few good spots

but you need ice of a safe thickness. lol. Remember to remove it from the lake before the thaw is going good. Or we will burn it down. And drink your left beers and smoke any cigarillos u got on your dollar.
