Adventure vs Private
I have a 1st sub which grants me a private realm. I'm yet to see the advantages of playing in the private realm, beyond having no PvP, compared with continuing in Adventure.
Can anyone point out what is gained and lost?

Can farm legendaries easier. No competition, plus you can take your time with specific spawn points. If you identify static spawn locations that can spawn a legendary inside a building, you can farm it. Enter building and find location. If that location has a non legendary, leave or fast travel to a close location. Re enter building. You've got around a 50/50 shot of that enemy being a legendary now. Once you have a route down, you can flip back and forth between public and private to farm legendaries.

This is interesting. I started playing over the Christmas period which was especially generous with legendary mobs (not sure why we call them mobs?) with presents but since then the only place I remember there being one was ... uhhh ..... the workshop area beginning with the letter B. West something or other? I'll definitely take notes on that but presumably others already have online?

legendaries dont spawn at a guarenteed rate, its more like some areas have a higher chance of having them. as do some events have a higher chance of having them some events even gauretee them like leader of the pack. but common places to find legendaries can be inernal dungeon cells, the whitespring golf club (is usually a legendary ghoul or tough wendigo) the garahan mansion quite often has a legendary assaultron (if its spawned as robots sometimes it spawns other mobs) can quite often find a legendary mole miner in the larger internal cell mines and sometimes around the excavator.

as to why we call them mobs - old school RPG terminology that stuck and transitioned over to video games.

I built my camp on the Whitespring golf course! Apart from the scenic views and nearby station I can farm eight (?) pencils from the nearby stall for lead and all the rest of the stuff there. My tent is still at the place where you farm ribeye steaks. Crazy that I don't really remember place names when 200 hrs in. Down the road from the Wayward where Fertile Soil always triggers.

If you head back up to the hotel and head towards the small-ish building next to the tennis courts, thats where youll find thelarge group of ghouls possibly with a wendigo.

edit - head on inside, you cant miss them. its basically a cafe and equipment rental type place.

At my level, it is a decent amount of work to take over Poseidon - I spent 25 minutes and killed a bunch of scorched and gave up. So I am watching the 29 minute, 9-month old YouTube video that shows fusion core locations. So far, none of the generators in the video have had fusion cores. Is that because I have not been on my private server for 20 hours yet? Or did Bethesda nerf the cores recently? I have played 15 or more hours on the private server, I think. Thank you.
