Tho, I also don't think this is always the case, all of my companions do this a lot. I think there's a bit of a hiccup when switching CAMPs and the timer doesn't count down properly all the time.
Switching camps for any ally is a problem because the game doesn't assign them to the player faction correctly.
You'll hear them say their stranger lines and they won't offer their daily tasks. They may also end up in their underwear.
Just another bug to workaround... if you want ally interaction don't switch camp or switch then server hop.
A funny thing with the British is they call underwear... pants...
It's also an insult to call something pants. The allies in this game are pants... (I'm not British).
