Mods When?
Idk how many of you build in FO4 but. . . it's infinitely cooler than 76. You remember the movie themed season we had a few months back where they gave us a cheesy still of a werewolf? Well here's what movie themed mods look like in FO4 https://youtu.be/ThPn7D31IV8

. . . i spent a month building that. I've since updated it to include a working discoball, jukebox with over 200 LEGIT songs, etc. . . now why, as a builder, would i downgrade to FO76. Because that's what this is. A downgrade.

Don't get me wrong! I love to build in 76! But i mean. . . build me this in FO76. Give it a shot lol.

We're like half a decade into this game, the promise that it will support mods is fading. I want to be a contenda, i want to be SOMEBODY! I want to build the Starlight Drive in Theater! Let's go!

Come back and show us screenshots and videos of what you can build in Fallout 4 without mods. Not everyone likes to download 5+ mods, especially for Bethesda where mods are used to 'fix' a game.

5+ mods? You're looking at about 200 or so lol. If you play Skyrim or FO4 without mods, i truly pity you, you're robbing yourself of literal weeks, months, possible years of fun.

Also i can build without mods, but why would i want to limit my options to vanilla bethesda assets etc? That makes zero sense.

This kinda reads like "i can't do that, therefore build with my limitations, you can't do what i can with vanilla" yes i can, and i have lol.

What makes zero sense is getting a game you cannot or will not play without tons of mods.

Kinda betrays the fact you think the game is ♥♥♥♥ to begin with, doesn't it?

And as for F76, even if we ever got mod support, it would NOT be in any way, shape or form even close to what you expect for F4 / Skyrim, you get that, don't you?

Because here's the kicker:
Every asset you want to download would have to be downloaded by all players, or there'll be goofy crap like you modding in a mansion but everyone else seeing some cheap placeholder with you floating in mid-air or other stupid things.

If there's ever mod support, it will be client side nonsense like PA skins only you can see

You will not magically be able to mod in super fun camps or whatever it is you are griping about.

Avoiding mods to avoid some of the shadiest hackers on Steam is a good plan, I think.

I think the best chance of getting what you may call "mods" will be prebuilt items in the atomic shop soo good luck.

True mods like other Bethesda games will NEVER be a thing. It's an online game, to say it's unrealistic is an understatement, it would be devastating for health of the game.

That said, there are small tweaks you can get for your user interface among a few other things. As long as the mod ONLY effects your experience and not any actual gameplay, they're generally lenient, but I don't recommend pushing that bubble.

I have over 1k hours in 76, what are you talking about? I'm asking for mod support, something they said they would implement btw. . . half a decade ago... sooooo yeah. They rather sell you atomshop items.

This is a benefit to everyone who understands basic logic. Why in the world would anyone be AGAINST more content in a game they enjoy? Don't fanboy. It's a bad look.

Here's the kicker. . . you clearly never joined a server with mods that download as you join. Babies first internet game. It's okay buddy.

Sorry for double post but again. . . clearly you're new to this, because since Counter Strike people have had servers with mods, and when you join it, guess what happens? You download the mods... I KNOW, it's a crazy concept. Having a server with friends, that use the same mods. WHOA!

There are mods for the game, but they are not officially endorsed or supported. Also, any mods that alter the game to give you an advantage ie remove doors, aimbots, etc are against the tos and may get you permanently banned.

You can always check out Nexus/whatever mod site or ask around the larger discord servers for suggestions.

Precisely. I wanted to mess with the VR mod. Nope. . . you can and will get banned for mods. They said they would eventually support mods, and here we are. . . half a decade or so in. No mod support.

What's funny, is how people don't seem to understand how easy it is to have a MP game with mod support lol. 2-3 people in here telling me it's not possible. As if we're doomed forever to their Atomshop. That's what this is, they want to sell stuff in the shop so therefore, no mod support.

Period.

Mods are nothing but optional features to me, a chance to include community content for fun. It is by no means a required necessity to make a game good.

At least, that's what it should be. Bethesda games are, as we know, known to be really buggy if not broken by themselves. This wouldn't be an huge issue if Bethesda really did try to fix their games (Or better, just use a better engine). But they don't.

Bethesda relies on community support to fix, patch, and add content to their games to the point where the company and the community that plays its games have become dependent on modders to make the game work in the first place, if not fun. I don't want that. I don't want to rely on installing X mods to make sure the game works fine and/or add additional content to make the game 'fun' by Bethesda fan standards.

"i truly pity you, you're robbing yourself of literal weeks, months, possible years of fun."
If I required mods to get more playtime out of a game then I have a slow mind. If you need mods to get more playtime out of a game, then I pity you.
