Issues with Chameleon effect.

i noticed 3 oddities, no idea if normal things happen here or bugs...

1. Sometimes i'm invisible for a full fight (using chameleon weapon or armor part with sneaking)

2. Anyway, some monsters target and shoot at me, even if i'm invisible and immobile for some seconds

3. The reticle disappears when aiming in stealth mode.

Nota : weapon is Faitmain in french, so it should be like Handmade in english

Just going in stealth doesn't mean the mobs that have seen you and know where you are forget all that. There are 3 levels, [Hidden] [Caution] [Danger] - Caution - they know you are there but not where, Danger - they know where you are.

but it's kinda strange...last night i would hunt MegaMutants that would shoot at me, even if "invisible" for some seconds.

Today i hunted a Deathclaw, i moved a little during the fight and he did not notice me at all untill the very last seconds.

sounds also count, droids used to detect me a lot earlier longer ago.
do you use silenced weapons? is your handmade using a silencer?

The Chameleon effect doesn't make you more stealthy, it is more of a visual effect for PvP.

If you are using the Chinese Stealth Armour that is a different case because it has a built in stealth bonus in addition to the Chameleon effect.

As per Mooman, imo this is the best stealth armor going and can be acquired via Minerva for gold, but free, just by doing a not very grindy quest from a lady at the Foundation. Go for the free :)

thanks for advice. i'll check for silencer, not sure. but i'm surprised by the difference of fights with various kinds of mobs

Enemies will shoot in your general direction after a while anyway regardless. Whether you are visible and undetected or using chameleon effect and undetected. If you have not moved at all you are basically guaranteed to get hit from some of the shots.

If you want to stay undetected for longer a silencer is a must have for a stealthy play style.

Also stealth in power armour is certainly viable now with recent changes but it is not going to be as good as a non power armour stealth build. My stealth characters can have a picnic underneath almost any enemies nose and they rarely go out of hidden status except for some rare cases.

Sometimes using the Chinese Stealth Suit Liberators will know you are around the area-You are Technically one of them. Animals can smell a Dweller from miles away-Moles even farther...PS, Mothman, Gulphers, Aliens and Mirelurks can't see you at all, can beat (Melee) on them all day and they just look around until they die.

for the moment i'm sticked to leather armor, out of PA. i'm quite versatile following main quests, so i can only rely on Minerva for better armor. But her lists are, ugh...

No clues for "disappearing sight" w<hen aiming ?

Basically it goes

agility >>> stealth perks >>> shadowed >>> stealthboy >>> chameleon >>> stealth crouch break perk

so unyielding character is MUCH MUCH stealthier than someone using chameleon + all the perks + stealth boy

i checked : my gun does have a silencer

i must admit that for the moment i did not set a full stealth Build for this char.
i play for 3 months and still test weapons and features.

...so i'm curious about those cumulated effects gun/armor bonuses :)
