And what to do when you have the problem I have?
My Bethesda Account gives Error to link to Steam. I have FO76 on Steam get a ♥♥♥♥ long sting of Numbers and Letters as a Display name.
And when I check ingame under Settings / Bethesda.net which e-mail is linked to the account, it shows Nothing.
Just:
Build: a really long string of numbers and letters
Username: Again a real long string of numbers and letters.
What to do now>?
The reason why you cannot link your bethesda to steam account is because your steam account already got another bethesda account linked in it. Either from Fallout series or Elder Scroll (Mainly ESO or Skyrim)
What I had to do was put in a help ticket with bethesda requesting they un-link that account and link FO76 to my proper Steam account. It takes a day or two for them to do everything, and you may have to tell them about any atom shop purchases to carry over (I had only just started so I had nothing to lose).
I think I linked my steam account to a email that doesn’t exist or not mine because I don’t eine my steam linked on any of my emails (Bethesda accounts) that’s just because I wanted to use mods I didn’t think of it 1-2 years ago of that
A player was having a similar issue and could not figure out what email was linked. They purchased Doom 64 on Steam for $1. Somewhere in running that game, it showed them the email that was linked to Bethesda. That enabled them to log in to bethesda.net.
If that email address is something you no longer have access to, you would need to contact Bethesda support.
