game wont launch.

validated files and everything. when i hit start it just stops almost immediately. nothing happens. can anyone help me out?

Try reinstalling directx. This worked for me.

I'm having this issue as well. The screen goes black then game closes.

Hey guys i just went thru this and was helped. So go to library. right click game, go to properties, go to gme files then verify I did this once, got an update, verified agian, then i was able to launch.Give that a try,

What worked for me was to delete the fallout 76 folder under documents, my games

i re installed direct x and it worked...tried everything else first as i thought it owuld just update with windows but did not. had to go to microsoft site and dowloand the installer and re install

I have solved it
step 1 remove Fall out pref files from documents fallout76 and fallout76prefs
step 2 Now game will lauch in windowed more > for full screen make sure Fallout resolution is exactly = to display resolution
step 3 send me thanks

THANK YOU SO MUCH. this fixed it for me. I am playing through the xbox game pass and i couldn't get anything to fix it. But your post saved me. Thank you!

This doesn't seem to be working for me. I deleted Proj76 and Proj76Pref files. Its starts to load then closes. I've been playing for a few days now then this ...I did update my drivers. Oh yes, also downloaded game through game pass as well.

Try disabling MSI afterburner if you have it

launch game from game folder file exe file as a administrator

check firewall and or virus protector and add fallout 76 as a exception
