Open map and press Z to get to the usual ESC menu? Piss off.
It is Fallout 4 with online
Thought about using xbox controller whilst in build menus but this is still broken as well its either keyboard or controller and not both at the same time which i find totally bizarre, gta v and watchdog series of games are some that i can think of that i switch between whilst in game without issue so why cant you make it work in 76.
the logical reason is, there are not as many left handed gamers as right handed.
controllers are very popular and this game does support them, thats not an excuse or reason not to have remappable movement keys, its the logical reason.
a neat solution for left handed gamers is, gaming keypads, they are small, have just about all the keys most games use for actions and menus etc. and can be inexpensive to expensive for pro style genre specific models like mmorpg types. (same for gaming mice btw)
a long time ago i was a console fps player for years... got into pc gaming... wasd? wtf.
i would hit e and q more than w or d or a. so those aroow keys were my goto and mapping crouch/prone reload etc around those was key in my gaming choices if the game didnt allow remapping to suit me i didnt buy it or play it.
then one day i just forced myself to start using wasd... in single player modes then in online multiplayer modes and i was bad for a while but eventually you can retrain your fingers to use the keys same as you can whilst learning to type. good luck lefties... its really why most things are right handed... and an age old debate... even the simpsons had a go at it...flanders is left handed iirc.
As a Lefty I play with standard wasd keyboard, I still occasionally hit keys by mistake but get by okay. The mouse itself for a lefty can be as bad, as the shape and so on is mostly for a right handed player.
It is awkward no doubt, the amout of times i've hit E to exit Armour at the wrong place and time let alone jump and use vats :-)
But hey we're SPECIAL)) and I like to say i'm "right" handed.
I originally dealt with the building/movement problem in Fallout 4 by using auto-move to move around. It was pathetic.
I finally got a customizable keyboard and now have a special layout just for Bethesda games. Basically, instead of remapping the game controls I remap the keyboard keys (for instance, I remap WASD to the arrow keys). It makes button prompts useless but I don't need them once I'm used to the game.
