Movement constantly "gets stuck?"
Anyone else having this happen? WASD doesn't respond like I'm getting stuck on invisible walls repeatedly.

I do not get stuck, but the hitching/stuttering in the game feels similar to what you described.

If you have an FPS monitor like rivatuner, you can see if it is stuttering or just getting stuck. If it is the stuttering problem, it cannot be fixed. Everyone has this problem, but people here just lie about it. It looks like this:

I tried to link right to a hitch, but if I did not do it right you can see a good example hitch happens at the 9:32 mark.

I have the same issue but only inside Power Armor within small rooms.

Not hitching I can spin, move, shoot, do whatever I’m just stuck randomly and can’t WASD out of it whenever I’m inside a building it happens.

I'm also having this issue. Seems like at random i can't move, my WASD keys become non- responsive. I can't seem to find a cause for it and appears to happen at random.

Pretty much same here, it hasn’t happened since so not sure what’s the trigger effect for this happening. Like when walking on a certain spot it’ll make my WASD go unresponsive it’s extremely odd.

This happened to a friend of mine. Exactly like you said; in the indoor instances. We found out there were files left over from when they had installed it using the Bethesda launcher; many of the files in their data folder were different to mine. Not just extra files, differently named main files too.

Uninstalling, deleting the Fallout 76 game folder, deleting the Fallout 76 folder in My Documents/My Games/ and then reinstalling seems to have fixed it.

We don't know if the weird files thing was the reason, but a complete and proper reinstall fixed it so you might just want to try that.

hey not sure if you end up figuring it out,

The bug is caused when you have really high FPS over 144 frames. Usually happens in interiors and is result of disabling Vsync. The game can't handle high frames and bugs out. If you can I would suggest limiting the frames by Nvidia control panel or another program if you don't want to use the ingame vsync.

Any idea of a way to limit FPS in control panel?

I went into the Falloutprefs . ini file in documents and changed iPresentInterval = 0 to 1 . 0 unlocks vsync and 1 turns it on. That seems to have fixed the issue for me as before I was running above 144 fps.

Download RTSS - Rivatuner statistics server. Also included in MSI afterburner if you need that as well.

Setting my FPS to 144 worked instead of having it uncapped. Thank you for suggesting the FPS fix!

I can say you can keep your iPresentInterval = 0 in your Fallout76Perfs.ini

In my NVIDIA control panel:
- Max Frame Rate: 144 FPS
- Power management mode: Prefer maximum performance
- Threaded optimization: On
- Vertical sync: Off

great thread, helped me with several glitches and freezes seemingly related to frame rate handling, specifically locking up on starting game (wait till second loading screen) and character sticking on the spot.

I have a similar problem : after 2 or 3 minutes in the game, it starts stuttering when I move, until it just freezes. Then when I release the moving key, the game comes back to life. I've tried everything, caping framerate, deactivating last 4 virtual cpu's, going low graphical settings... I tried to use auto-move when it starts freezing, and auto-move works perfectly, no freeze at all, so that made me think it's the fact that I keep pressing a key on the keyboard. And it is, I tried with every other keys, and it's the same : if I keep a key pressed, the game freezes.
Is this happening to anyone else ? Can changing my keyboard fix this ?

Edit : I have a Corsair K70, I tried to play the game without I-Cue (the keyboard software), but it still freezes.
