The other option is to buy Repair Kits and Scrap Boxes. Repair Kits are pretty mediocre unless you dont have Repair-based perks to add extra durability. Scrap Boxes are a little better, but scrapping items at a workbench (which are all over the game world) is just as effective as the Scrap Box.
Otherwise, go for things that are aesthetically pleasing to you. I'd super buy the contemporary pack for the CAMP if I had that.
There are rumours and data mines that they will be adding pets to the game soon, maybe hold out for those :)
I agree with the others, don't buy Repair Kits or Scrap Kits. They are useless and a waste.
Really, just purchase cosmetic stuff that looks good to you.
the pipboy skin; the base is a classic, but with some out-of-gourd styles it just clash, as it does with some more serious or lore-istic
skins for builds come with the plans themselves, so it can be an ealry advantage to have a sinned item
dress skin: you can cover your mismatched.but-effective armor with a classy tuxedo with bowtie, for no negative effect
PAskin: let's face it, power armor paint is one of the less usefull but titilating things you want from the game
house decoration: some things you just want, but cost too much IRL, this is just a rightfull powertrip
weapon skins: because style
