The Elder Scrolls Online has the same issue. Only two server locations:
North America
Europe
But no Oceanic....
Any chance they will open up new server near our region ?
They are a low effort developer. So the chance of that happening is very low.
Heh. You are right. My bad.
Seems that Bethesda Game Studios are using Amazon GameLift.
They have servers in these Oceanic areas:
Singapore
Tokyo
Sydney
Seoul
Mumbai
Beijing
Sorry for my assumption. Thought it Would be like ESO servers.
Main reason I don't play ESO anymore was due to myself being located in Australia and no close servers. Hence ridiculous ping.
Oh so they do have server in Singapore?
Any source to reconfirm this ?
Same bro, I have stopped playing ESO due to the ping issue. I feel you bro.

https://aws.amazon.com/gamelift/
https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/global-infrastructure/regional-product-services/
Also hit up a few of my friends who play Fallout 76. They can confirm good ping.
Thank you for the information ! =)
Logically, the game studio will deploy the game server closer to their consumer (gamer/us). But realistically they will focus on which region they have the biggest user base. Because running the game server is not free. And it does not make sense for a game studio like Bethesda to deploy their game server in Singapore or Sydney if they consider their user base there will not enough to cover the operational cost.
Exactly. AFAIK there is not a Fallout 76 server in Australia at all, despite there being AWS infrastructure. The closest game server for us in Australia is Japan.
There is no way that the lag we experience in game could be possible with a local server. I play online games where the server is only in US or in Europe and I get far better ping than what i get with Fallout 76. They simply cannot have a game server everywhere if the player numbers in certain regions do not justify it.
I played last night (South Australia) and there was a 1 second delay between events. Enemies were teleporting around the map. It's usually nowhere near this bad, but when it happens, it ruins the game.
