The private server is nice for farming. Down the road you'll need various items that only drops in nuke zones and on a private server you can nuke morgantown or the golf club and have all the mobs to yourself. Once you finsh a pass log off for a minute then back in and they respawn.
In the grand scheme of things its a rip off and a hallmark of toxic game design tough.
Oh speaking of mule accounts. The private server stays up for 5 minuts. So if you are mostly a solo player and want to do mules you can drop stuff outside valut 76 then log off and switch toon. Its not risk free because if the server dies for some reason you'll loose the stuff.

I wont get it again as I have enough in storage to build, craft anything I EVER want. The survival tent is not really missed as when you join a group of 4 at least 2 of them have them and you can use them for FREE map movement etc.
You know most game subscriptions are $15 a month for an MMO right?
F2P ones sure. But you still buy the base game for this... And Elder Scrolls Online. Its brother has a much cheaper subscription, cheaper base game, 20 times more content and better performance plus less bugs.
Fallout 76 is asking for a premium price when it as a product is anything but premium.
My Netflix subscription is also cheaper. Netflix has a lot more content and value.
Very true. In total I have bought Fallout 1st twice. It is a major convinience but for what it gives you expensive.
Only reason I have been willing to use it twice is that until CoD, Assasins's Creed Valhalla and Cyberpunk 77 is out I was not really playing anything else. And with the current human malware situation a lot of money have been saved not going out.
This was my first ever Fallout and it will be my last. Unless they launch the next one and it does not contain toxic game design like the stash limit which is then sold as a solution in first. Edit: And all the annoying limits on scrip per day, caps per day, caps in total, scrip in total.
The tent and the scrapbox should be baseline stuff you have.
So while I have bought it twice a my honest assesment is that it is not worth it.
And I hope to god they don't turn the next elder scrolls into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like 76.
I may subscribe again if they improve, but the only way we can make Bethesda listen is with our wallets, they don't care about our voices.
If you are going to actively play 76 everyday and don't want to worry about where to put junk, then absolutely. Survival tent is nice as a teleport point but the scrap box is essential imho. The free 1st items that come out sporadically are OK, and the atom stipend each month is not that bad either. Just my 2c.
Since you are coming back after being gone for awhile I'd play the game a bit, regain your bearings, and see if you want to dedicate some time to the game again. Wastelanders changed the game a lot from where it was super early on and its a decent amount of content you can work through.
