wanted for lock picking
kk so i get the daily quest to lock pick and i go to workshop and pick a lock and now im wanted. like wtf i thought you can't get wanted in pvp zones. is this a bug?

would be helpful if the game warned us about this. fml its only 5 caps i guess.

Yeah, this is a common mistake. Especially if you have Infiltrator equipped and aren't thinking about it.

it was a claimed workshop for you to be wanted for picking a lock
Long ago a very low level player claimed a workshop
I came to help him defend it
there was a locked safe that I thought no way this player will be able to pick this level 3 lock
I help and pic this lock for him out so he can have to loot
(My brain dead moment ]
I was wanted for do so

i feel you. kill the noob and it's pvp but pick the lock and now the whole server wants to kill you

But it does. It might not be well worded but you do get a warning that you will be flagged. It is then up to you to continue the pick or back out.

Happened to me once when I was doing an event--never said the lock belonged to anyone it just gave me the wanted jacket.

Did it say "STEAL" when you moused over the locked container? I was talking about workshops. I just logged in to test it, and certainly did receive a warning when I tried to open the safe upstairs in Sunshine Meadows Industrial Farm someone else had claimed. So I hit escape and wasn't flagged.

it was all white and not the regular red and i got no warning.

I have heard this before, and I can only suggest when you are at a workshop check ownership (If it's owned and locked, expect a wanted label). I have no idea what causes this, maybe syncing with their servers, but unless they get a lot of feedback about it being an issue it most likely will not get fixed or addressed.

In a workshop area, stay crouched, do you things and leave.

Don't picklock anythings there, no chance to take ... .

And be aware when picklocking near player's CAMP too. A player's CAMP seems too close, again no chance to take and leave the lock.

For the "Wanted" status, store your scrap items into your stash box, not at your CAMP until you get ridded of your "Wanted" status ... .

I read "ridded" as "Riddled" and thought yep, that is how I got rid of my wanted.

Happened to me few times, but I'll go to a place where no one comes to pick you up and see how killer waiting me, nop, no easy for you get me, LOL. I only let a newbie shoot me so he can get his achievement
