As for me, I use mods (visuals and quality of life) But you really should judge for yourself regardless of what others tell you.
One of the past discussions on Mods:

Bethesdas EULA:

Be warned
Any ways. Wow, let me catch my breathe here. Ok... BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Ignore that Ancient forum post. Go to Nexus Mods. You are FINE!
Hell, Beth even said that Chat mod was a good mod to use!!!! LOL
Uh, no... mods will NOT get you banned. Only code injecting or any type of intrusive DLL.
I use, and have SINCE the game basically came out. I pre-ordered.
- Chatmod
- Perk Load out manager
The two most essential period.
And hell... a WHOLE bunch of mods, for YEARS!
Have I been banned? LOL.
Ignore these people, they are clueless.
Edit: To all the idiots who think mods get you banned: I've been using nexus mods in Fallout 76 since 2018. I have over 5000 hours logged in the game, over 3700 hours since the migration to steam. I've used mods via both steam, and Bethesda's launcher. I have known hundreds of players in my time with the game who use mods from nexus. Nexus mods do not get you banned. Exploits can get you banned. Especially exploits that cheat the mechanics of the game. Nexus mods have zero impact on other players and don't give mod users unfair advantages over non-mod users. For the most part, nexus mods are cosmetic. Some of them are graphics or ini tweaks that improve performance. None of those things breaks the TOS.
True, and since Game companies do not explain or have to explain the reason, one can only speculate as to the real cause of the banning. Now certain mods I can see as a bannable offense such as anything that gives an unfair advantage against another player, using hacked gear, or abusing exploits. Most mods out there are on the player's end and cannot affect another player's game.
And with the question that was asked to FO76 support, I don't see anything with them other than what was already stated.
https://help.bethesda.net/#en/answer/44429
Question was:
CAN I USE MODS OR OTHER THIRD-PARTY PROGRAMS WITH FALLOUT 76?
Reply from support:
Fallout 76 does not support the use of any mods, add-ons, or other third-party programs. Please be aware that the use of such applications may result in Fallout 76 not functioning properly.
To me, it says if your mod use breaks your game don't come crying to us.
But this is also why I included the EULA link, I believe everyone should ultimately make this decision on their own since it's their game being discussed.
