Found a plan reseller... people do this?
Always kind of expected it but thought the chances of seeing it were low. I was listing almost every plan from gifts in my vendor at 10c. I'm level 1,200, caps mean nothing to me and my hopes are the plans go to people that don't yet have them. (The only one I'm keeping are vintage water coolers)

The vendor noise was going off non-stop while I was playing, a level 750 was at my camp buying everything. Even duplicates of the same plans. I took note of his name, he went right to his camp afterwards. I followed him and looked in his vendor, and watched as he was adding them, in real time, for insane prices. 5k, 10k etc.

Just kind of sucks and spoils the spirit of Christmas I guess.

Why you mad. Maybe he was poor and now can run his shop. I think he is thinking "what a great Christmas".

Lol, yeah they're called "scalpers" when they do it in the real world. Christmas is the classic season to see them out and about, too. One other real world hold over we could do without.

Set everything as varied prices of 76. Flux? 76. Good one star weapon? 760. Rare teddy bear? 7600. Toilet Paper? 40k.

Some things will be super discount but others are a huge rip off. This doesn't prevent scalping but it does make them take their time and you can take note of what they're doing and switch your camp.

Trying to help other players enjoy the game with cheap help at your personal location is appreciated. Players like you make any online game worth playing, while folks trying to take advantage of other people and be as greedy as possible with imaginary currency is the opposite of that.

*Honestly, blame Macklemore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK8mJJJvaes

(Happy Saturday, everyone)

What note do you drop off at a scalper vendor without sounding big mad???

Yes people do it, and I'm not angry at them. I sold them for what I wanted. Yes, they may charge and get more money for them. But that's on them.

It's Terrible that people can come on here and think they can be Retailers, Vendors are for Wholesalers only. Next thing you know players all around will be setting up their own shops. The last thing MODUS needs is a bunch of do gooders. That's why he charges 10% on all sales (except player to player exchanges and that should stop soon). Hummm-thinking a perhaps a Silo Toll Booth for Launching Nukes-Caps or Stamps maybe, gotta go talk to MODUS, could be an award here that he needs to check out. ( I'm a Broker Mole to on the side).

I understood it that vintage water coolers only drop once for a player. How is it you have spares? I farm holiday gifts in the frivolous hope one will drop. It is the lack of that one plan that keeps my camp locations tied to water sources.

Drop once vs Learn once are different things. Dunno if that applies here, but you can trade for or continually get some of the plans that will stop dropping once learned.

I understand trading for a known plan. What I do not understand is how one gets a spare copy of a plan that the system no longer drops for you. If I pick and learn the Vintage Water Cooler plan, then it never drops again for me. How do I or anyone else get a second copy?

Vintage Water Cooler doesn’t stop dropping.

Plans that are tradeable that stop dropping when you learn them. Just don’t learn them. Get lots of them and then sell the spares.
Uther Dec 23, 2023 @ 9:21am
I see. I read that they do stop dropping once learned.

This. The seller got their asking price. What the buyer does with the goods is entirely up to them.

Trying to maintain possession of something out of your possession... well... just don't, it's better for your mental health.

I put stuff in my vending machine so hopefully new players can buy them. If someone else buys them, shrug. I'm not too concerned.

For all I know, people could buy plans, and then dump them out and let them despawn. I'd have no control over that, so I don't think about it too much.

or they could take them to a train station, and leave them in the suitcases around the station for free. I like that idea better.

5-10k caps is the going value for most seasonal plans, with a few standouts exceeding that, most notably the water cooler in this event. You also need to keep in mind that levels are meaningless in this game. It's entirely possible this guy used a method to farm insane amounts of XP, most recently like the aquarium exploit, and hasn't really done anything in the game yet.

Alternatively, this is also one of the ways RMTs get caps to sell.
