17 million players?

Where are those 17 million players? On Steam DB less than 6k. I don't know if I'm blind or crazy.

Corporations like to show those big numbers - "17 Million" is most likely the total number of accounts ever created and therefore technically true - but nowhere does it say those numbers are active accounts.

So, in other words, 17 million is the number of people who tried F76 and didn't like it, and so they don't play any more. Of those 17 million who tried F76, only 6k liked it. Is that it?
by the brothers above, FO76 is also a console game. Plus there are loads of games that have 5-7k cocurrent players

need a few more free trials to pad the numbers more

5-7k player is pretty good. And we should applaud that they still support the game when there are plenty of reason to plug it off.

keep in mind those steam numbers are wrong, steam does not have any accuracy in population numbers and users playing, compare it to the number of high populated games that are extremely bad an low quality , you will realize that every thing done on steam is based upon marketing advertisement.

another words you pay steam money and they say your game has a lot of people playing it, if you won't give steam a penny or your game already sold more then enough copies that steam no longer gets that 30% they drop the population numbers down on purpose to try and short the developers.

That's just on the PC. We also have the consoles and gamepass players.

Too strict a view, but essentially yes.

Keep in mind that F76 isn't Steam exclusive and consoles also exist, so that number of active players is likely way higher, but yeah nowhere near that 17 million.

Edit: And they included players that just stopped playing for some reason or another, not necessarily because "they didn't like it". Daytime is also a factor.

But it's MMO-type PR, most if not all MMOs like to do this to make the numbers look impressive by simply counting all accounts in their database.

Yeah, you are complerely right. I agree that to say that F76 only has 6k player is a very strict view. But then to say that this game has 17 million player is just beyond absurd. I don't like when companies throw fantasy numbers and blolated stats when everybody knows it's not true.

Might have to also throw in the factor of when people are playing. Due to work, family, school, or ect. Also the time zones could also play into it to

I mean I have a half-dozen friends who have been playing Fallout 76 since release, and on any given day, only one of us plays unless we make a concerted effort to play together. That does not mean only one of us plays Fallout 76.

People shouldn't worry if this game fails or not or if bethesda go under or not. Worry about your more pressing matters in life like your own and your kids future instead.
