Chainsaw vs Autoaxe

Chainsaw. Slightly smaller on screen. Auto-axe does have electrified mod if you like that more. In actual use they are pretty much exactly the same.

I have been using the Vampire chainsaw so far and I am satisfied but some said that autoaxe is better

Have seen people saying that too, don't know why. By Pip-Boy numbers chainsaw is tiny bit more powerful, have both on my "melee" toon and there really isn't any real difference between them. Chainsaw is slightly smaller on screen and that's the only thing that matters to me. :P

I have both with upgrades and do not really notice any difference except the screen size.

IIRC they were like +/- 2% of each other at min/max with autoaxe eeking out the victory

autoaxe = larger screen presence, slower attack speed (thus actually while doing more DPS kills individual enemies slower), but vs the 'uber' bosses it is slightly better... that being said, melee vs any of them is a fools errand anyway... slower attack speed means vampires is worse with it

chainsaw = high attack speed = good vampies synergy... good vampies synergy = immortalty

And with the new tasty food recipes it's even easier to get insane damage. I can solo all 3 big bosses with my vampire auto axe on a full health melee build.

I don't know but reading these comments is inspiring me to get a Vampire Chainsaw, eat some melee food and go to town!

The comparable effectiveness even though the axe has lower numbers could be due to a slightly fast rate of attack. (speculating)
