It's "remastered"?! I don't give a flying molerat's brown star about some pricing for any game in the 201- on, but FINAL FANTASY ONE?! F#$)*(#)%@(! C'mon people! You can remaster 2D sprites all you want but the fans are just gonna hate it more (they did), I think pricing a game at full price within ten years of its release is more reasonable than charging 50% more for a vintage game for which you can still find the original cartridge for around $8.
What. The. F. Just no.
Oh, and that's not all. Just do a quick search for the classics and "indie style" rip offs to see how your beloved companies are trying to suck as much money from titles three decades old. How to prey upon the nostalgia of our peoples' childhoods - well done, dev industry.
So a short answer? Because Gaming Industry. Shorter? Gamers.
And its $40 for the base game and all the expansions that have come out so far (Wastelanders, Steel Dawn/Steel Reign, The Pitt, and now Atlantic City) and any that come out in the future. They don't charge you anything at all to access the new content.
Its not an MMO. While technically it is a multiplayer game, its more like a single player game with some added people occasionally (mostly just during the events that happen regularly). And like other single player games, a one time payment is all that is required.
Take it or leave it.
Or buy on sale.
Or don't. Move on.
If you don't want to subscribe you can still play for free.
The base game is regularly $8 on sale.
MMO is a vague term... to me personally, I see fallout 76 as a MMO because of it's open world design were you can travel too any part of the map.
fix your post, or it is just misinformation
Lastly, you do not need a subscription like other games to play.
Going back to the Interplay vs. Bethesda trial Bethesda defined MMO as having 100 players per server. By their own legal submission FO76 doesn't fit the term MMO.
One day... maybe... players will stop calling it an MMO and all the connotations that implies. One day...
No clue. It cost me $10.
I have never paid a dime after buying the game in October 2018
