Some building parts may have more durability than others but i have never noticed a significant difference between them all. Prefabs are great if you are going to be attacked regularly as they are super cheap to repair.
Normally there are no earth cracks where they should be coming out of, it's not south east after all, but for some reason they love my home :) So far it's fun tbh I am used to games with base defense and I like that part. I just wish my turrets wouldn't get cut off most of the times I get attacked.
@Insert, I wanted to switch my default heavy lasers to the enclave (I believe they are called like that) ones, do I need to wait for the season when they sell them or there is another way to get them? Those should be pretty powerful.
That is unfortunate luck of the draw. You've built near a spawn point.
Sadly the type of material used doesn't make a difference in terms of building strength. A wood roof provides exactly as much protection as a steel or concrete one, the difference is 100% cosmetic. Which if I'm being honest, I kind of wish it wasn't. It would be kind of cool to be able to build a steel structure that can withstand a little more damage than a rickety wooden shack but, alas, that was not on the priority list.
As already suggested, either ramp up your defenses or cut your losses and move someplace else. Even just moving to the other side of the train station you're near might make the difference you need to keep that pesky scorchbeast away. Only way to find out for sure is to try it.
Good luck!
Or maybe it's something else. All I know is that the only major differences my camp might have from others is A, no traps/turrets, and B, all crops planted on farmable dirt tiles (though I doubt that affects scorchbeasts, it does prevent the spawn of crop attacking creatures, so that's something good to know).
