Have the F.E.T.C.H. version but those dogs don't defend at all, they just roam around to bring you junk and other stuff.

They are just a reskinned camp collectron; albeit with a different loot pool.

They do the same amount of junk as all other collectrons, it just allows you to collect different junk.

it seems the fetch gives junk, ammo and electronics (I only have the rusted varient, I do not remember what that gives.)

I see the Ace the raider seems like mostly focused on ammo, but I don't see it in the atom shop as listed, does it just appear occasionally depending on the season we are in?

You can have ANY collectron, but only ONE at a camp. The skin does not matter but with every collectron you "Collect" you are given options on the miniature computer with each collectron to choose what they collect.

so lets say you want the dog, but you hate the loot it gives, you can change what it loots in the mini computer.

I see and for instance if I want to get that robot that collects ammo, the only way is to get it from the shop or is there a mission out there that unlocks it?

well if you want something to collect ammo, a collectron is not exactly what you want. there is a ammo collecter that you can spend gold bullion for, I do not remember which person sells it, but it collects a specific ammo you want and is so much better.

yeah I was thinking to get both, every little bit helps, unless the collector just really collect less than 100 a day

from what I notice, the collectron collects slower than the ammo one. but I usually have mine collect nuka cola as I can sell it or drink it.
