I got several new combat shotgun and I am breaking it down but...

I got several new combat shotgun and I am breaking it down but I am not getting any mods from them, is it because I didn't unlock the bp or because I already have them all from the other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shotguns I broke previously?

You're not guaranteed to learn a mod every time you break something down. Some are easier to learn than others. Some guns you can craft and break down for mods as well.

I think I broke 10 nothing. If every mods are applied to all the shotgun category then I think I might have gotten them all?!

And what about the power suit armors, can I just scrap them and get mods or I have to unlock the quest first? I am now lv25

PA mods must be purchased or found in kit form or plan. You cannot learn anything by scrapping them.

Different mods you can get from scrapping weapons and regular armour also have a different weighting. So you may get many mods fairly easily but the last couple may take far longer to get.

No mods are unlocked for an entire category. Mods are only unlocked for a specific weapon or armor. Unlocking a short barrel, for example, for a combat shotgun won't do anything at all for a double barrel shotgun.

You can get them all from scrapping AFAIK. You can also buy the mod plans if a specific mod you want is not dropping for you.

Go to a weapons workbench and modify a combat shotgun. It will show you how many mods you've learned and how many there are total. If you've learned most of the mods you won't learn a new one very often.
