Cheats ?

quick question, how does someone 1 shot kill you when you're looking at their player vendor when
a: you are not flagged as wanted
b: have PvP disabled

just visited a player's camp Ninjastab or some such purile tag and they killed my toon without warning, no, there were no camp traps, just a vendor machine.

Anti cheat is terrible and filled with people who abuse pvp system for some odd thrill in this pve game. No clue bud turn off pvp in your options.

Punji board stack use to one hit kill, but it should have been patched out quite a while ago. Did you have light-footed equipped?

PvP is off and I had Pacifist enabled.

There were no punji boards, I'd have heard the sound, I was alive, looking at the vendor, then dead.

There were no punji boards, I'd have heard the sound, I was alive, looking at the vendor, then dead.

Check the forum for the user Phantom's posts on PvPs if he or another player doesn't get back to you sooner. Those posts will cover the ins and outs of PvP including exploits that could have been used on you. Either way, it's always safer to report when you're in doubt. Use the in-game function at the time it happens, if you can record the process and repeat it a second time it's ideal for getting the player a ban. Then follow up with the email they send you and be both concise and polite. If there is no instance of exploitation and they used a valid Player Murder trick then the player won't get a ban. Don't name shame on forum, for the simplest reason to avoid player confusion in-game.

np, wasn't exactly "name shaming" as that was just the "basics" of what name they had, trying to actually search for it as i listed it would be a waste of time.
Still kinda pathetic to have it happen.

Have you tried finding his name on the server list and reporting him?

Report and block. Best option. They will be permabanned and you will not run into them anymore.

haven't seen them again so far, server hopped for a while looking for crafting mats, but didn't come across them again.

If you block a player in the game you will never see them again. It's a good option if you run into someone who's nasty in some way. Reporting cheaters is the way to go though. Make sure to do that. Makes the game better for everyone.

This game has some private cheats wit PvP and PvE settings as i know
I was playing on "Colossal Problem" event with 3 random guys. and one of them was playing with cheat. He shot the Wendigo Colossus few times with Pipe gun and Wendigo Colossus just died instantly.
P.S.
You can find on youtube that a lot of players were playing with hacks on "Nuclear winter" mode
So, i think, it's a normal practice for this game

NW was disabled, and never made it past Beta. Yes, it was a lodestone to hackers, cheaters, and far worse. It scared away a huge number of Fallout fans and the majority of players wouldn't touch it - the Official Reason it was taken down was low player population as there were never enough players for more than two NW games simultaneously at any given time - once, there were three with half the roster filled by "afks"/bots. This mode is gone now, and it was never fully developed (could have been awesome, genuinely a huge waste - I had over 1k hours of stabbin' hackers put in, myself). The community is not and has not ever been friendly or wanting of that interaction, the sad fact is that a lot of single-player introverted fallout fans are more likely to flee confrontation than handle it. Please don't bring up irrelevant issues that are now past.
That issue was handled a while ago BUT if you do want that kind of interaction just check out "server 76". A lot of the same people are still trying to keep hacked fallout pvp alive.

wasn't rads, was just instant death (1000+ rad resist at the time anyway)
From memory, it was a melee hit and as such, should not have done damage, let alone 1 shot me.

punji board trap camps still exist.. I have seen more than a couple in the last few days.

If it was a melee hit there used to be a way to stack bleed damage. Wouldn't surprise me if it somehow was the culprit as it isn't direct damage.
