Fence angles

can fences be placed to angle around the perimeter. What are limitations to placing fences? 90% 45%

Maybe? Remember that your perimeter is a circle and fence pieces are straight. So plan accordingly. Additionally, fence pieces don’t necessarily sink into the ground so if you are not building on an extremely flat area, you will have some unmatched pieces.

The last time I placed fences they wanted to snap straight or 90 degrees. If I remember correctly. Took some fiddling to get other than that. It may depend on the fence though.

I haven't tried it yet since Beth patched it in but, somewhere you now have a setting to turn off snapping. That would allow you to place the fences at whatever angle you want. Horizontally that is. There's no vertical spin options when in build mode.

Edit; Curiosity made me go check, then try it. When in Build Mode hit R to turn off snapping. I did that then placed a few fence pieces and you can place them at any (Horizontal) angle you wish.

Simple solution, find an already fenced in location and build there.

One place that comes to mind is a small junkyard on a road in the north of The Forest. Don't have an exact location... but if I remember it's on the road leading from the lighthouse (might update if I login today).

Has a few workbenches and a Nuka Cola lamp. A few built items and a fench with working gates.
