How to move from lvl 10 armor to lvl 15 or lvl 20.

Im lvl 18 and right now my armor crafting is only lvl 10 light armor. I need an upgrade to survive. What am I missing?

Armorer perk needed, and level 20 bump maybe. Not sure

Probably with your 1st character, so :

The main goal (weapon/armor) until around level 25 is to change piece by piece with stuff you found.

Yeah, have to carry all sort of ammo for 3 or 4 weapons and have a set of armor with different pieces ... !

Once you have the Perk Cards, learned the plans and enough junks (gold, ballistic fibers, screws, etc) you can try for a "matching" set.

As for weapon, when you will have an idea of your build, you can begin to specialize, choosing 1 or 2 weapons.

Test things, take notes, do some internet researches (Fallout 76/wiki page, videos/YT) and don't worry, have fun ... !

Always store your junk when you have a chance, if you die you loose nothing ... .

No perks needed, your crafting will upgrade as you reach lvls milestones: 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50.

Also take in consideration high end stuff will be only lvl 45-50, why? because the game is what it is.

Perk cards are only if you want to make something special, you know, you can craft a laser weapon but if you want a plasma minigun must have x perk equipped.

Crafting steps by 10 levels, either on the 0, or 5. So if you can craft level 10 leather armor, the next better leather armor you can craft is level 20, then 30, 40, 40. If you can craft something at level 5 or 15, the next level of that item you could craft is level 25.

If an item that is in the 5, can never be on a 0. So if you get a level 45 item, you can never craft it at level 50.

As others have said if your armor is level 10, the next upgrade for it comes at 20. As for actually crafting that armor. select the item you want to craft and if you have multiple levels of it available it will then change to a selection of the available levels. Only a few items are auto-crafted at your highest possible level.

there are some good armor plans in grafton, regular combat armor with bos modding, costs ballistic fibre to make

or you get raider power armor made by a higer level player, that should not be a problem if you ask nicely around ingame
