Camp building issue

So I know that hunting chandelier doesn't work anymore but I recently bought the circus trailer plan from a player. I have tried to put it down everywhere in my camp and it won't go down anywhere. It just says it's floating. Is it borked too?

Let me double check.

Nope, works fine. Either you have camp/environment objects intersecting with your build space (**building on a "floating fake hill" ground layer counts as unstable or floating so it can be difficult to tell where is a good place to place foundations) or you've exceeded your camp budget/supplies.

**Make sure you're not in camera build mode, and adjust the camera from sight level so that the object in question (the circus trailer) hitches at some point in the ground. The above mentioned issues may prevent it from being placed (even when blue-ok-to-build - annoying I know) but if you just wildly swing the camera around at the ground while holding mouse-spin you'll eventually find a blue-ok-to-build spot; then it's just a matter of zeroing in on that spot or eliminating whatever is preventing the build, elsewhere.

From that point you can use either build mode to adjust where exactly an object is placed, moving it slightly left or right. Be warned, your player character counts as an "environmental object" if you try to build too close in standard build mode or on top of yourself in camera build mode. Wall objects (such as paintings) are easier to remove from camera mode but MUCH more difficult to place and adjust. Larger objects such as prefabs are easier to place in camera mode but best adjusted or removed in standard build mode. Foundation type objects such as the circus trailer are best interacted with only in standard build mode.

Thanks, I was aware of all that. I can put my hunting lodge down there, wildwood tavern, and Nuka cola truck no problem. The trailer has its own large concrete base and it slides right into the ground. I can raise it or lower it.
I've tried with freecam and 1st person cam. It is not obstructed by any other object I even took everything else out. My character is not in the way. I have moved it everywhere and it just stays red saying it's floating. I have spun it round and round while moving it so much I'm dizzy and never even a blink of green.
Maybe when I load back in it will fix itself. I'm completely at a loss I have moved and rebuilt my camp many many times before this and I've never had anything do this before.
I really appreciate your info tho'. I read it all twice to make sure I hadn't missed anything.
