Refrigerator in your camp helps.
The perk card, "Good with Salt".
Helps alot.
Cooking food will extend it's life...
Spoilage rates vary by food. If you're worried you can use "Good with Salt" perk (under Luck) or a backpack mod to make food you carry spoil more slowly. Sometimes the atom shop has a cooler you can buy for your camp that you can store food at 50% spoilage rate.
A wild blackberry lasts 90 minutes raw. Juice it at a cooking bench of some type and that becomes 374 minutes.
In other words, cook your food to make it last longer. I believe the condition bar of the cooked food is full once made regardless of the condition of the raw food, so you can hold off until right before the raw stuff spoils for the longest total duration. If you have the perk points for it and you want the food buffs, get Good with Salt on top for an even longer duration.
