My ability to even experience FOMO was burned out of me almost completely, by playing another game... warframe. Talk about FOMO, that game is the king of FOMO. There are things in that game that were offered once and never again, and the rest may be vaulted (not obtainable) for years and years.
I laugh in the face of other games attempting even slightly to instill the same fear! Amatuers!
I once saved up Atoms (don't want to spend real money) for the hot tub only to find out it vanished out of the shop once I had them. I wrote the support. Explained my situation. They gave it to me.
Now I am proud hot tub owner.
And on a side note, even if you miss certain events, many of these special cosmetics etc can be sold. So you might find them in the vendors of other players.
Yep, the only thing you can’t get is Excalibur and that’s because the prime variant was a backer award. They worked around that with umbra though
Is there any content that works as a “ gear check?” Like even giving old time players a run for their money
If youre susceptible to it you might not want to put your time into this one.
there are times when its fun and challenging. mutation events sometimes did that.
but i like how its chilled then its exciting. the chill, exciting, chill, repeat rinse repeat rinse.
the chill parts i like for when i like to build a nice camp.
Edit - i dont play alot of multiplayer, but when i play dead by daylight (mulitplayer) there's cosmetics you can't get for a long time when you buy the rift, (10 euros and you get your money back via funds in the game that you buy cosmetics for, its the same concept here in fallout 76) so we dont see the cosmetics until maybe 2 years later if they decide to have it available to buy.
that game is also very popular.
i see why they do this, because if everyone got everything all at once, you can't obtain or want things because its all there anyway. Its just something to look forward to when it comes along.
I'm skipping this season's board cause I don't like it. There are only a couple things I can't get later (the board itself, a very nice trophy) and this season's I won't miss. In the past there have been maybe a maximum of five things I can no longer get that I wanted. That's out of hundreds if not thousands of shop items. So it's there sort of? But like they mentioned earlier it's really player-side. Most objects pop back up in the Atom Shop within a year's time.
There's nothing so vital since it's all mainly aesthetic and some utility, so fear of missing out is purely on your fashion sense.
Item's from scoreboards never "pop" back in item shop.
