If you mean there are missables, then yes they exist. The game has a season scoreboard system where you get points by doing challenges and progress on the board. Each stage has rewards, some of which are unique to that particular board like cosmetics, weapons, camp items, things like that. Seasons last for a few months and then onto the next season with new rewards.
Sometimes these things come back in some form as an atom shop purchase. Sometimes as a bullion in game purchase. Sometimes they don't come back at all.
Then there's events that are available for a limited time, but most if not all rotate around the same times each year so if not this year then you have an opportunity next year.
Off the top of my head:
Season rewards that may or may not ever be obtainable again.
Nuclear Winter rewards that may or may not ever be obtainable again.
Limited Time Event challenge rewards that may or may not ever be obtainable again.
Gear rewards that may or may not ever be obtainable again. (Ex: Xerxo's gamma ray gun)
Atomic Shop Items that may or may not ever be obtainable again. (EX: Fasnacht mask display) albeit now available through contacting Bethesda support along with many other items, this might not end up being the case for everything.]
I'm sure there's other cases I'm not currently thinking of that others can add.
I'm afraid not.
What matters if you are missing out, just enjoy the game and multiplayer.
It's fun.
I try to stay clear of Fomo games, i'd personally prefer to not support games that have it, mainly because i hate when developers feel the need to use it for player retention.
But battlepasses games are already a common thing nowdays sadly.
Cosmetic fomo sure lots of that... lots of looks cannot be obtained anymore
QoL and P2W fomo yeah, sure lots of that too... lots of things that give you temporary bonuses like extra experience gain (10%), extra intelligence (6.06% exp), extra other SPECIAL, ones that produce 11.25 intelligence (34.1% exp) - sure they can be obtained in other ways but those ones are hard to come by... ammo production assistances, things that produce commonly used junk (minor you can find it in bigger bulk in the world)
Legacy weapon (something recently stolen from players because they were 'too powerful' only for bug-festa to turn around and introduce even more powerful ones to people for a limited time) fomo's (the what 7-8 star grenade launcher that utterly breaks balance)... xeros gamma gun (cosmetic basically its weak) if you aren't quick the cold shoulder (a shotgun that does some absurd damage and has slow effect)
Then their are fo1st (pay to win) fomos in unique cosmetics, unique emotes, very few unique weapons (with a couple of them being op), bonus rewards for doing events, infinite storage, etc
This sounds really really bad, thank you for the details friend
Regarding weapons, thats all.
And autoaxe is so trash it no longer belongs in any melee or weapon category so it breaks every now and then.
well that depends greatly on how you look at it.
skins for weapons and armor don't do anything useful. most items for your camp are purely for looks. some recent stuff (auto-axe, union power armor) has been locked behind a serious grind (per character!) if you didn't get them from the scoreboard two seasons ago.
however sooner or later all stuff will end up in the atomic shop where you can buy them if you care enough. that's part of how they make money on this game. right now there is a bundle with stuff from one of the first seasons in the atomic shop. you can get it if you missed it but it's far from mandatory.
same goes for fallout 1st. i played the first ~2000 hours without fallout 1st and while inventory management was quite annoying at times it was perfectly playable.
now i got fallout 1st three times between the last few seasons to grab all rewards and fill up my stashes.
was i baited with extra rewards and convenience beneftis? for sure.
do i mind paying 60 bucks per year (4 seasons per year = 4 months of fallout 1st = 4x15€)? obviously i rather would not but at the same time i spend more than 60 bucks on cigs and booze per month so i'll call it even.
last season i wanted the cappy backpack skin really bad but it showed up on the atomic shop after i blew all my atoms on other stuff.
was i disappointed? yes
did i run to buy more atoms with my money? no
did i cry a lot? no
i will get it when it returns to the shop later and at a discount or in a bundle because it's old season stuff.
Cappy backpack was not obtainable through the season, that was the bottle backpack. They were two different backpacks, both ugly by the way.
