Gauss Minigun useless
I don't know if it's a glitch or something, but I have serious issues firing Gauss Minigun, sometime I have to click several times to start spinning those barrels and firing.

And in close combat this gun is totally useless and actually dangerous for the owner.
When you are surrounded by enemies you can't even fire at all, every time somebody touches you it interrupts spinning process, and while you are able to start spinning those barrels and actually firing some shots, you are already dead.

So I had to spend + 1000 bullions for plans and mods, and then legendary scrips for legendary effects, craft very expensive 2mm electromagnetic cartridge ammo, just to get almost useless gun? It can only be used at long to medium distances, but for anything other than that I would be better with pipe rifle.

Not sure what is the story here, is that some design flaw, glitch or what? I would like to hear experiences from the Gauss Minigun owners ONLY, I don't want to hear philosophizing from the people who don't even have this weapon.

It's my most powerful ranged weapon for sure. Flamer is maybe stronger, but it's not very long range. Like the normal minigun you have a short spin up time before it starts firing. I myself use tri barrel to get the most damage and fire fast. Dunno what to tell you. It's super accurate and hits like a truck.

Yes, it's a very powerful weapon, but not for close combat where it can get you killed easily. That "short" spin up time is a big issue, especially in closed spaces or when you are surrounded by enemies.

My Gauss Minigun barrel stop spinning randomly in combat. Its annoying.

Besides short spin up time, I think there is a bug or glitch when you try to start spinning. Sometimes I have to click several times to actually start spinning barrels, especially when aiming. I can't recommend this weapons to anyone, especially not as a main weapon.

The gatling has something similar when aimed and shooting, it seems the animations are bugged to hell in that case, and you just keep doing the crank animation and not firing the gun.

I've never had this issue and I use this weapon frequently.

Why would you use a ranged weapon in close combat. If an enemy is getting close to you, you're doing it wrong eh ;) It's a weapon inteded to mow enemies down at range. Although I've had no issues using it at close range either, enemies tend to not make it that far. Plus you have the magical ability to move away from the enemy by using WASD keys as well. It's quite handy. Ok I'm teasing, but you should never be standing still surrounded by enemies in the first place unless you're using melee.

Yeah, I have Gatling but I never aim and never had an issue with that.

But I have Gauss Minigun with +25% bonus damage when aiming, so when I aim it doesn't start firing, it's just "cranking up" like forever, I have to click several times to even start those barrels spinning. So while it eventually start to fire shots I'm already dead.

So besided crank time issue I have to deal with aiming glitch too. I think I will just abandon this weapon.

Yes, I can see. In modern wars since 17th century till now soldiers never use ranged weapons in close combat. They use, I don't know, shovels?

And about enemy getting close... Enemies in this game magically spawn 2 feet away from me out of thin air, and I should not let them come close? I had 2 ghouls today spawning directly in my bunker while I was sleeping.

Medics build at medium range.

Well you do have hte option to switch weapons. A chainsaw is good on any build because of how strong it is. I personally have the following on my heavy gunner build:

2x gauss minigun, 2x minigun, 1x flamer, 1x plasma caster, 1x 50 cal machine gun, 1x tesla rifle, 1x handmade, 1x chainsaw. That takes care of almost any situation I get into. I don't have any perks for the secondary (non heavy gunner) weapons, but they're so strong that they don't really need it. Tesla/flamer is perfect for ghouls getting close, but can use chainsaw as well. Whatever flavour you prefer.

You can also put something like a bayonet on your weapons if they have it, but honestly even if built for it those don't really do a whole lot of damage. Save for maybe the minigun shredder which will still damage enemies if you run out of bullets. Of course the gauss minigun doesn't have a shredder, but you get the idea.

So you carry with your characters 10 weapons all the time? I don't know, it's just not my playstyle. I usually carry 1-2 ranged weapons and maybe 1 support weapon, like grenade launcher. That's it.

Sure, it's upto you. I just like variety, but to be sure, if you're going for a heavy gunner build the miniguns have a spin up time, but they do fire bullets like no tomorrow. Use them in a way they are best suited is all I'm saying. If you're overwhelmed by enemies, you could jump out of the way or run away and shoot, or switch weapons. Having a backup weapon that can deal with different situations is always smart.

I use the Gauss mini all the time, close range/long range and never had issues. Sounds like the batteries on your mouse or controller need to be replaced. Also, to prevent explosion damage, u need a DENSE mod on your armor. :VBCOOL:

fireproof perk is sufficient. But dense also works. Although I would not combine both.
