As far as I know, there isn't a level cap. Though levels that high ultimately only mean you've played for quite a while. You stop gaining SPECIAL points at 50th level, so the only thing you gain when getting a level above that is a new perk cark (plus a new card pack every levels. The only exception being a new legendary perk card slot at level 50, 75. 100, 150, 200, and 300.

I think, veteran players are around level 1000 to 1500 with a primary character and with no "exploits".

I have over 5k hours in this game and I play with 3 characters (795, 542, 525). I have deleted 3 characters too.

There is no character level cap. I was on a team with someone who was Lv 13622 over the recent double xp weekend. That is the highest i have ever seen myself.

My own characters i play often are 790, 435, 220, 89 and 200ish. Got several mules as well. Anyone with these really high levels has 100% been exploiting xp glitches. Levels past around 2-3k are totally not able to be legitimately achieved even from players who have basically done nothing else except play this game.

A full exp build not exploiting the game can get 2 levels in westtek every 5 minutes during double exp, not hard to run through it and kill them all

A full exp build 'soft exploiting' grenades to 1 or 2 shot clear westtek can get about a level a minute if they are geared and supplied...

MOST legitimate players hit 1000 then swap out of grinding because we don't care, only going for bonus exp to ram scoreboards down quicker

Buffs an xp expert farmer do when he/she want to make westek runs: UNY armor with +1 intelligence in each piece + bio mesh chest mod, casual team with max int up, +15 int, legendary int, well rested, double xp weekend (optional), mothman xp buff (optional), berry mentats, hervivore, brain fungus soup, cranberry relish, live and love 3, leader bobble. herd mentality, strange in numbers, inspirational, curator, chem fiend, night person, 4 lunch boxes = around 65 int for 1 hour or two, all legit, no exploits and if you see them please tell me where they are.

PS: and if you want to know, each 3 muties you kill = 100 scoreboard.

The level was capped in a recent update to 32767, a signed 16 bit integer limitation.

ive been playing since the original launch and havent even hit 4 digets in level yet. not really a point when they stop giving perk points at level 50, which was a ♥♥♥♥♥ thing to do.

i have seen many people here try to say stacking buffs is cheating and that going to a same location many times is "XP duping" so sadly you are wasting your time on this forum

Started playing in 2021 (season 6 is the first one I completed to 100%). My level is 493 on my highest character and 255 on the second one. Played for 1012 hours according to the ingame stats. I don't play "efficient" I don't "Grind". I just play for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles and do whatever I want.

I did gain a bunch of levels during last years meat week events with double xp boost.
