Multiple pellet weapons split the damage equally by the number of pellets shot. In the Dragons case each pellet is 25% of the total damage.
Apparently the Dragon has a built-in limb damage effect that can help it cripple quicker.
Due to long reload time the best option is to have several on quick select to change to. As it is a single shot weapon it doesn't work with quick hands perk, but will get quicker reload with ground pounder perk.
Pirate costume + 2 powder pistols + 2 powder rifles = pretty good dps for about 5 seconds until you need to reload
I need to test if this works against radscorpions...been hell to get those down with lever gun only..incl gulpers anglers etc etc
Still need to scrap a dragoon/black powder rifle with bayonet to learn to craft this mod?
By far my favorite style of play that utilizes firearms.
*The bayonet is crap. Don't use it, carry a knife.
You need to scrap any black powder rifle. Or multiple. The mods you learn are random and the modifications installed on the scrapped weapon have no bearing on what you learn. You can scrap multiple bayoneted black powder rifles and never learn the mod, or you could scrap a single non-bayoneted rifle and learn the bayonet mod.
The question was about if we need to attach the bayonet mod to a black powder rifle to learn the mod because the usual way to scrap weapons to learn mods doesnt work with black powder weapons, and no worries, i dont have a dragoon with a bayonet :)
Still is a Mini-Ball gun. So they where considered rifles in the old days since the ammo was a one shot that usually broke up in pieces when fired sometimes (Who would have thought lead was weak and break apart).
Personally a Blunderbuss would be an excellent addition to the game for a shotgun of an older time period
