Whatever ever link that was was broken.
I don't know where to go or what to do. I know i have to get a key and go to a silo but i don't know where or what or how the whole process works. Where is the mission that takes me there? I don't know what to do at all beyond "go to silo, insert key and code."
You don't need a key to enter the silo and run it through, but you need a keycard for launch and launch code. You get keycards from cargo bots that are escorted by 3 vertibots or from scoreboard rewards and launch code is easiest to check from nukacrypt.
In silo you need to do some quests though, but game informs you what to do. Tip: make sure you have steel and circuits in your stash so you can fix the mainframe cores easily.
If you do Scorched Earth event while you're in the Enclave quest line--probably just in I Am Death, but I'm not positive--it marks the quest as done and you don't get walked through the nuke process. Same thing happened to me, debating starting a new character just to finish that quest.
What is that suppose to mean?
1) If on a team with people going in, you can be any level. Going solo, you will want to be at least level 50, and decently kitted out.
2) Be prepared for Robots, Radiation, and Turrets.
3) Have a good amount of ammo and chems. There are a repair benches at the 3/4 mark into the silo so you will want to have a while to go before you can fix things that break. Be ready.
4) Have at least 2 preferably 3 nuclear key cards. It really sucks to get that far into the silo, and fat finger the launch code. You have around 30 minutes to get back in before things start to reset. But the last thing you want to do is have to fight your way back in.
Running the silo:
All three silos are identical inside. They just have different "defenses" outside. Alpha has a Yao Guai that patrols the area but can be avoided. Bravo has a clear entry into the silo. Charlie has a bunch of ghouls outside.
As soon as you enter the silo, you should receive a side mission: "Mission: Countdown Alpha/Bravo/Charlie". The mission will give you way points to follow. Once everything is completed, you will see two podiums and an aiming terminal facing the missile. Swipe your card on the left podium. Enter the code on the right podium. Aim your nuke using the aiming terminal. If you have been in game during enough nuke launches you should have a decent idea on where to place the epicenter.
Hidden behind the spoiler tags are the detailed steps required to get through the silo.
1) Get past the initial laser grid.
a) from the elevator, turn left and go through the door. You will need to find a bio-enrollment card. Robins egg blue card lying on tables, the floor, shelves.
b) Left of the break room with the pool table you will find a med room with bio scanners. (They look like Sympomatics) Step inside one of them and be scanned.
c) Right of the door that you came in from the elevator you will find a room with a terminal and card scanner. Swipe the bio card in the scanner and it will be erased. Then using the terminal, enable new bio card.
d) Going left of the door from the elevator and following it around, through another door you will find two terminals with two card swipes between them. Swipe the bio card in the reader. That will disable the laser grid.
2) Getting through the reactor room. (Yes, there is radiation. There is also a decon shower you can enable by hacking a terminal.
a) Go through the grids and then the door. Turn right and follow the hall all the way to the end then turn right again. There are two gutsy's in the room as well as a terminal that can be hacked to turn off the turrets in the next room, as well as turn on the decon shower.
b) Go through the decon shower and into the reactor room. Follow the wall around to the right and you will end up in an alcove overlooking the reactor room with a terminal. On the terminal you will be required to activate shutdown, repair, and activate the reactor. Take the first step on the terminal, and then you have to go around the room, fixing broken pipes. (yellow and black striped pipes with steam coming out). This is timed. Don't do it fast enough and you will have to do it again. Once all of the pipes are repaired, go back to the terminal and clear the reactor shutdown. This will open up doors leading out of the room. (From the door you came in, follow the wall to the left and you will find doors that are now open that you can get through to the mainframe room.
3) Getting through the mainframe room.
a) From the reactor room it's a short jog right, left, right, into the mainframe room. There are computer banks lining the walls and a grid covering the door out. Destroy enough computer bank panels (shotguns work magic) and the grid will go away. Leading you to MORE computer banks to destroy. Take out even more, and another grid goes down letting you into the full mainframe room. Lots more to destroy (there is a progress bar).
b) Once enough of the mainframe is destroyed, another grid will drop and you can leave through a door that is forward and right from where you entered the big room.
4) Getting through the storage room.
a) From the mainframe room, go down the stairs, follow the hall around, and then back up into the storage room. Across the initial room, is a door. Go through the door into the main store room. You will find several assaultrons, a sentrybot, plus other misc bots and turrets. In the main room go forward and then you will see a large door on the left. Next to it is a computer bank and a terminal. Accessing the terminal will notify you that there are 15 broken mainframe cores that need to be repaired/replaced. Remove the cores from the computer bank, and then you have two choices. You can find the tinkers bench in this area and repair them (uses circuits) or find the hidden repaired mainframe cores all around the room.
b) Put good mainframe cores in the computer banks, access the terminal, and you can now open the large door next to the mainframe. This opens the hallway leading to the control room.
b+) Facing the door that just opened up, turn completely around, you will see a door and terminal. You can use that terminal to open the door. That door is a "shortcut" from the elevator/spawn room so if you happen to die, you can just go through the initial laser grid, into the hall that lead to the reactor room, but instead of going all the way through, take the first door to the left, and that leads you into the room on the other side of this terminal. Fast way back in when you die.
5) Control Room.
a) From the storage room, go through the large door, take a left, walk around the missile, and then out the other side. You will there find a door on the left that leads you up stairs to the control room. Inside the control room, immediate left, up the stairs, and then right, you will find a terminal. At the terminal you initiate the launch process. 5 launch robots will spawn in and go to their assigned terminals. Protect them from robots and turrets. If they die, a quest marker will show up on a terminal where you can spawn a new one.
Once they are all done, room goes darker, and you can launch the nuke.
By the way, always have on you two nuke cards when you do a silo run.
Sometimes, Nukacrypt is not sync exactly for the weekly reset ... .
