Not sure why you're arguing with yourself, but The Pitt update for Fallout 76, the topic of this thread, was released in September of 2022 - only 7 months ago.
It's because BGSs resident landscape designer and location scout left before The Pitt was released/completed.
Nate Purkeypile was the person who would go to real locations and photograph them to add to the game(s). He was involved with the original Pitt expansion.
Without real world ideas to follow it becomes stale and I doubt BGS is willing to finance someone new to go on 'vacation' and location scout.
The Pitt we got with expeditions is all based on ideas and not reality, that makes it hollow. The Cathedral in Ashes to Fire seems to be based on St. Pauls but in actuality a Dev has mentioned it is based on The Cathedral of learning. But without placing it in an actual city it is just a boring location.
So unless they are able to do 'realistic' cities again by hiring/promoting a new location scout I don't want to see any new maps as they will be bland and generic.
Edit: I'm wrong about the Cathedral claim as it is actually from FO3 and Haven.

moo man thank you for all the information and insight you provide, if ppl don't want to believe any of it thats on them still thanks for your effort
Could have easily put in close to 1000 hours on CE, if only Funcom hadn't screwed the pooch and went for the microtransactions instead of actually fixing the game. The mount riding alone is so buggy you're sure to get whiplash in real life.
As far as 76 goes, wasn't here at the beginning. Heard the reviews, saw the ridiculousness on vids, and avoided tossing hard earned money at a hair brained idea. Now, I feel like this game is actually pretty damn good. It's simply Fallout with multiplayer and more daily 'purpose'. And it makes me a tad sad that I missed the first 11 seasons, even if deep down I know I probably wouldn't have made it through all the crashing/bugs like some of the players did.
Think it comes down to the fact that Conan is new to you. It was like that for all of us when we started. Even today, when I stand above my castle wall and watch the sun rise as Basil Poledouris' music plays in the background, I get a little misty eyed. Conan Exiles could have been so damn amazing and completely cornered the 'survival' market. But Funcom....
any word going around plasma rifles will get introduced in future updates?
but if they do... less dark. I'm not asking for nuka world happy happy...which i also like,
but maybe something of a combination.
id like the New Orleans bayou map extension like they did for Falllout 3. lol

Will be a free mod for Fallout 4 owners. Has working train/subway system. Has vehicles in bikes and boats. Has new weapons with different gimmicks. Has working ladders!
The officially paid BGS employees haven't even come close to some of the innovations of unpaid mod developers...
Why give money to mediocre when you can get exceptional for free?
