Character Wipe?
So, I've got 276 hours in the game, had a character to level 221ish, haven't played in some time though. So no I log in, and that's there is two level 1 characters.

Was there a wipe I missed? Should I have been refunded a bunch for the stuff I spent?

Nope, no character wipe.

Only thing that comes close to a wipe are the Fallout Worlds servers.

If you had characters there then once that world is closed (month long) you revert back to adventure progress.

The world's characters are branched off from adventure but no longer progress those characters, they exist in a seperate timeline.

The only thing that comes to mind is you logged in a different bethesda account?

The branching worlds characters is really a bad call. Yeah if 76 were a rogue (definitely NOT) and the entire game were set up for hardcore play. Of course if you've ever died in game you can take a guess at how much fun permadeath would be, which is the only proper way to do a survival/rogue genre game, anyway. Of course, non-NW players complained about NW players' Adventure characters getting perk card/coin bonuses and camp objects; NEVER MIND that it's the exact same situation now for people that like vs don't like Daily Ops or Expeditions - "let's make the problems about PvP and player attendance, not how a**-backwards our priorities as devs are, they'll buy that!" Right guys. You CAN do ALL the things you have and had planned for the game; and you can do them WELL if not wonderfully, you just gotta actually do the thing. Staffing is the major failing of the age, I know, not having hands to do the work is awful. But still. Vault raids were a great idea. They needed to run smoothly, but it is still a great idea. So was NW, provided you FIXED IT and removed PKing from Adventure outside of specific events. Worlds could also be done in a way that doesn't make people feel like their time has been stolen rather than used in leisure. I know I'm missing some things but that's the gist. End rant.

What all did you "spend" on, OP? Atom shop purchases remain on your account for all of your characters with the exception of consumable utility items. If you bought a bunch of stuff with Real World cash then it's possible if not likely that those were not legitimate items. If the latter instance is the case then devs may have taken note of the straight-forward nature in which you acquired the illicit items and taken pity, giving you an account wipe instead of perma ban - though I have no reason to believe this may be the case nor any similar account from other players to back it up. Usually they just ban the account, in which case you'll have an email from them; do a search of your email that's attached to your account just in case.

**That's saying you had two characters that were approximately 1 level/hours right out the gate? So you knew what you were doing and how to play right out the vault. Secondary account?

So, cash expenditures were for Fallout 1st - the benefits you get from it do translate to value (for me). The 276hrs spent, well they were fun, and perhaps a drop in the bucket compared to total time spend playing all the Fallout games where I have 1k+ hours in each, but still, being forced to start from scratch, without knowing when your character is going back to lvl 1 w/no gear is a bummer. My stash was at capacity with collected things and so on.

Hopefully support can do something about it.

And yeah, I do see all the cosmetic stuff in the store is still owned, so I have no idea WTH happened.

IIRC They have done character wipes

if you were "fOunD" to have exploited excessively, duped or had excessive dupes, etc they did character wipes and left the account alone

Also if you had just played on custom worlds then nothing was saved

Never gonna happen and didn't sorry...Items bought in atom shop would never be wiped so there is no refund coming...Either your old account had unfair gains and you should be glad it was not banned just reset or someone got access to your account a deleted everything,,,There is no wiped and there is nothing to refund.

I only ever played solo on one of the private servers you can use with Fallout 1st.

Private Adventure, or Private Custom where you could change the settings of the game to make it harder or easier?

Have to get some more in before Starfield lands!

Well, I love how people can say it doesn't happen.... I have 139.8hours into the game and unlocked 29/72 achievements. I'm not sure why my character is now level 1 and the reason I am on this forum. I logged in after a couple of years to find my account seems to have reset. I was considering starting again as I thought I might not remember anything but a mate who I played with reminded me I was quite a high level.
Why has this happened and I don't want to hear rubbish about hacking or mucking with my account, for starters I wouldn't have a clue how to and more importantly, I hate hackers which is why I left GTA to come back and see if this game is any better after all these years.
