Bird Bones Serum recipe for 10,000 caps, is this right and why?

the other day I came across a player vendor with bird bones serum recipe for 10,000 caps.
doing a double take I couldnt believe it, so I ran to the enclave science wing to make sure all serum recipes were selling for 24,000 like i remember, and they were, so i go back to his camp and buy it.

I'm just wondering why he was giving it away like that.

Sometimes high level players need to dump caps cause they're at the max and have other trades to take care of so they'll do something like buy the serum recipes. Besides with Charisma points, cards, and etc... you can buy them for like 15K or something close to that iirc.

If he sells three of them, he makes a profit. I sell all my serums at 25% of the nominal price, and make a profit on every one.

I have a serum in my vendor selling for 1,000 caps and no one wants it. I think it's the Healing Factor one.

He's asking about the Recipe's not serums themselves. I will sell one from time to time for 10,000 caps when I get a brain fart and buy one I don't need on one of my players.

Probably because most players only need the serum once as it never goes away... and most players like myself sell the serum's for arouind 3-4 hundred, not thousands. But OP was asking about the recipe, not the serum.

I sell all serums for 300 caps each (yes 100 caps cheaper than vendoring them) I don't really need the insane caps so I sell them cheap. Add me if you need any cheap serums, I just ask not to buy all of them out just to vendor them.

I found them too, but, my theory its not from someone wanting to clean their caps and selling more cheaper than npc's, let me extrapolate the same idea in real life.

You open your mobile device, and find a nice pair of shoes you know they are new from a famous brand with the price reduced at 50%, you go to the official shop of this brand and discover the true price and those shoes are from a new collection just exited two days ago.

You will buy them?

Now, talking about the game, i bought in the past a pair of those recipes at 10k too and reselled them for 50 caps less than the maximum discount you can get with 25 charisma, but, i did, knowing maybe was a duped item, but i accepted the risk, so, buy it at your own risk.

They were being experimented with as 10k cap notes on discords and other trading sites

problem is no one really wants them by the time they can have them so their trade value dried up

for a while everyone was trying to horde them

I've never paid more than 300 caps for one, though I have gotten several at 200. I see them all the time for 1000 and wonder who's buying them.

A few weeks back I dumped a bunch of serums in the box at Nuka World. There also has been occasions where I will stick them in my vendor for free. I have everything I need, just passing it along to others to help out.
Plus there is a simple free way to get mutations. Go to Emmett Mountain Disposal and well. There is a video on youtube about it I am sure. Just look it up
