What happened to your cat/dog?

When you start to the right of where you obtain the pitboy there is a plastic bowl for an animal. Since there is only 1 bed in the room I can only assume this is the players room so where is my cat/dog? Who stole it and brought it out without me?

All I'm asking is that something like the animatronic cat can tag along and kill rad rats n such or that the robotron dog can travel with you bring you junk manually... and that you can play fetch with it.
Nevermind content or alternate modes or expansions or anything else.

When I woke up in the Vault after the party (Hung Over And Late), I found a note from my cat who said he was going out to populate Appalachia because they need more Tabby cats. My dogs note said He was tired of doing tricks for food and now is working for the Raiders.

Vault tec regrets to inform you that your cat/dog/alligator/pet never existed. This was just a small test to see how many vault inhabitants would notice the pet bowl in the room.

Results show only 2.04% of vault inhabitants noticed the pet bowl and showed any concern for their pets whereabouts.
