When you first start out you cannot be killed by PVP up to level 11 or so. Then you can enter pacifist mode by going into your settings which most people do.
If you claim a workshop you can be killed when at it by another player, but this rarely happens. Most players don't PVP.
If you played every Fallout game, this is a must play for the lore. The stories aren't as engaging- mediocre at best and quests seem like a chore instead of meaningful.
You can play the game without interacting with other players, but you will when you enter an event. Events are the fastest way to level up, so you will see others around and if you are about to die, they will stimpack you
Definitely get it, I was loving Fallout 4, then I saw a bunch of reviews and things about how much 76 has been fixed since its horrible launch so I decided $10 on sale was worth it even if it turned out to be a waste. Now I absolutely love the game, am trying to do 100% of everything available in the game.
I would say that 99.999% of the players you meet will have zero interest in killing you.
People will either ignore you or offer to help.
I have nothing to add beyond that, lol.
Just server hop if you don't like a situation with other players, that's it.
