Recently Returned, Question on Trogs
So, I havent played in a few years and recently decided to see how things had changed, mostly enjoying.. but trying out the expiditions and had no real trouble until I encountered the Superior Trog/Trog Boss.. and the acid spew just melts me.

I noticed a lot of flamer enemies just melt my health as well, so I was wondering if this is related? is there a bug of some sort with the damage calculations for these spray damages or is my T-51 armor just that bad?

Energy damage is bugged atm yes as for poison its always been strong, just not many enemies use it so you never notice. Gonna have to get poison resist legendary or some other alternative if you are struggling. Honestly I hope they keep energy damage the way it is, makes the game challenging and punishes glass cannon builds like what should happen.

Yeah, about the trog "Devourer", you need to take him down as fast as possible. Better to have a team for this if you don't have the "tools".

Another thing about him, if he's a Legendary, you're in big trouble ... !!! Psycho, Fury, buffout or whatever and all must focus on him ... .

Well, I beat the boss one by hiding out of reach and plinking away, none of the Union guys survived except the essential one. Guess my Lever Action just doesn't have the output to take them down fast enough, dissapointing but I can do other things in the game well enough.

Legendary Perk Cards, which are above the other perk cards can be used Funky Duds is suggested until you get armor that has poison resistance of 25-50. Using the "matching set of armor" Funky Duds card also takes the place of maybe a more useful 4x upgraded card like adding +300 Rad Resist, or +5 Strength. I drop all my Rad x stuff for other players.

Mutations and Join a team and share cards also for added bonus. All kinds of mix and match options like using the Chem backpack, instead of the perk card, they don't stack, so you use "Incisor" 3X gets you "Your melee and unarmed ignore 75% of targets armor".

Honestly, ignore expeditions, they are ♥♥♥♥. Unbalanced for anything other than full team of meta builds. Trogs have insane amount of HP for whatever reason and hit like a truck. The rest of the "normal" mobs in game I can kill super fast without bloodied build, but these things just refuse to die. Expeditions were "cool" until I saw all there was to it, repetitive boring mission not much different than daily ops and daily ops were bad enough. I just ignore these. Ain't no way in hell I'm farming stamps through that crap unless they buff drops by at least 10x.

Expos are a great way to get XP, ammo, legendary items. You just need to get on a team and follow along until you learn the ins and outs.

Well, after having spent a few days working on leveling to unlock my lvl 300 legendary slot I got the Funky Duds Perk, Trogs became much more managable once I got the heavy boost of poison resistance there, managed to complete the Trench so I've atleast run each Expedition once now.

Didn't get the final objective in the Trench though of saving all the people lost down there, of course.. I gotta wonder why they were there in the first place, seemed suicidal to me.

That objective is the only thing I failed too, saving NPCs that die in 1 hit is just moronic. The expeditions are terribly unoptimized.

Again, better in a team in the "Trenches" ... !!! You have 3 NPCs to interact with. They are 3 different levels of protection for them (1 is weak, 1 is medium and 1 is hard).

I have read that the one at the left is weak (to be verified).

Anyway, in any cases, don't stop running until you have reached them to succeed the rescue.

Yeah, not overly concerned about not saving them, but I'm glad that I got the funky duds perk, because I couldn't believe how much the increased resistance reduced the damage from the Superior's acid spew. Mostly in it for the lore and exploration.

Now I just need to work on my build some, because ho boy did it take a lot of reloads to kill the Fanatic Foreman with my Lever Action. Trying to avoid anything like Bloodied and the like, cause well, I just don't like the gimmick/meta builds.

I'm using a build which has high resistances and still get melted in 2 seconds, so not a fragile high damage one. Besides if gameplay would get changed permanently like that then it would be catering only to certain builds which doesn't seem like a smart move. I mean, why play the game if you can't play how you want? also how does it affect you if someone uses glass cannon build? it doesn't.
