This game is pain in the ass!

To repair gear you have 2 option either farm materials which is taking forever, or buy repair kits with atoms, which cost real money. This is taking so much fun out of the game, why cant we jut pay with caps like any other mmo to repair gear.

Don't repair items until they almost break. Costs the same regardless of how much you fix.

At low level, you change weapon with what you find.

If it's a Legendary one, there are perk cards to help diminishing the cost of repair.

Attend the "Scorched Earth" event when you see popping up. Once you deal 1k damage to the ScorchBeast Queen, you will have some Improved Repair Kits.

its rly not that hard to find materials, you really should just be hitting weight limit each time u go out to do anything and come back to your base.

For armor there is an AGI perk card called White Knight that reduces the cost of repair, by 60% for each resource. For resources in general there is an INT perk card called Scrapper that gives you a lot more resources for scrapping weapons and armor, you can get like 20 steel apiece for scrapping rifles and shotguns with that. For repair kits, you can get those for free on the scoreboard and also by doing certain events like Scorched Earth.

EDIT - Also there are INT perk cards for repairing weapons (Weapon Artisan) and armor (Fix It Good) to 200% condition, which makes them last longer between repairs. Also perk cards for decreasing wear on weapons (Gunsmith) and armor (White Knight) that make them last even longer between repairs.

If you attend events, there is a Scouts Banner buff that will repair your armor. People are always dropping banners and opening lunchboxes at events so you will most likely get this if you attend them.

A full set of Excavator power armor will give you double yield for mining ore. Then you can use Super Duper (Luck perk card) to get a chance at doubling the output when smelting that ore. At Lode Baring event there is a ton of ore, you can get hundreds of each kind of material after smelting all of it.

Yeah, it is a necessity to fix everything including yourself in this game. The greater the resistance the less damage you take. Don't jump off high places often. There is also perk cards for a "chance" to repair your armor and weapons. They actually work good. Loot as you go, scrap all weapons and armor that have no stars. You will have to anyway because of weight. Do an EVENT, scrap all junk, turn in Star bounty, put good stuff in stash, repair using perk cards. Drugs sad to say in this game provide a +25% resistance if needed.

Pipe Weapons can never break. Just roll with them Major advantage to them. (Right perks of course)
