Stash is full, how to fix?

Im a packrat, how do i solve this?

Created a problem (limited stash size)

then they sell a solution (pay for the monthly sub to get an infinite scrapbox)


Things I would do... sort by weight on the box

1 - remove all your junk from the box, go to a worktable and make sure its all broken down (if you know what they are you can remove them by weight and not have to remove it all, if your new and it sounds like you are its probably best to get them all out)
2 - remove non legendary items from your box (regular weapons and armour) scrap them
3 - stimpacks aren't valuable if you stashed them just remove and vendor them
4 - remove and drop any nuclear cards, keep like 1 if you must

Look at the ammo you have stashed. Missiles, mininukes, 40mm grenade rounds, cannon balls all weigh a LOT. Only save the ones you are actively using. Same for grenades.

Look in your aid tab. How many stimpaks and other chems are you hoarding. You should have a decent idea on how many you get in a day, and how many you use. Set yourself a level to have enough in case something goes pear shaped, and sell the rest.

Same for purified water and other items in the food tab. How many nuka colas and alcoholic beverages do you have stashed?

Also, sorry to say it, but you cant collect nothing if you are free to play, so, no severed and smashed mutant heads in your stash, i know, this hurts a lot, but stash is stash.

I have seen posts like this before. The best advice I have seen given was for all materials just keep a stack of 100 each. If you deplete a certain stack of the 100 stored, keep more of that item say go to 200, till it levels out. Anything that you store that never drops below 100, then sell or drop.

Ammo you do not use at all or never plan on using, either drop it or convert it at a converter to ammo you do use.

Stimpacks and Purified Water carry max of 10 on your character, keep in your stash max of 50. (Stimpacks and water are really easy to come by so you should really never run out and your stash of 50 rarely would be touched.)

Edit: They do offer everyone Fallout 1st free once, sometimes twice a year. Take advantage of the free 1st and store everything in 1st stashbox (it has no limit and doesnt count against you.) Load it as much as you can till the free time runs out. You will still have access to that stash once 1st runs out.
