Mirelurk eggs for the dailies

Hi, I have a problem... I could spend one of my free rerolls to skip this quest, but i'd like to save that for later on tonight. Can someone tell me where to find some good mirelurk egg farming locations?

yeah i checked ohio river adventures by the river, I've logged out and back in again twice, both times the damn things were buggy. activating each one exploded the shell to reveal... another egg... one that you cant harvest from like the first time...

and after the third attempt, same damn bug. looks like i can't do todays daily and get credit for a gold star...

I found that you need to exit the game entirely and then load the game back up again, is what fixes that bug for me.

You can add me and come to my private world and grab the eggs, I'm sure it will work. Just let me know if you want.
Add me on steam since I don't get notifications for replies on these threads and can go from there.

Grafton dam on the island area above it in the scout camp, ohio river adventures, and highland marsh. Do it in a private server though as the bug where the eggs break and you get nothing is actually weird. The bug is because someone else already got the eggs but the server has to put "something" there so it puts fake eggs on top of the real ones. You are opening the fake eggs. On a private server nobody has opened them before so it's all yours.

Same bug btw exists sometimes for deathclaw eggs, best to farm on a private server.

I tried exiting and re-entering. Clearly something goes wonky on startup; I had to pass on the challenge because trying over and over is a waste of my wasted time. Kept bugging out for me.

Did you quit the game entirely? I feel like thats what has to be done to fix the glitch.

Yes. And I'm sure this is probably the quick fix for this one - thanks a ton Smurff. Last night I was tired and grumpy, and this morning I've only had one dose of caffeine (double size double strength coffee, obviously - black tea for the win but honey and special creamer are expensive) so I'm just too grouchy for something such as patience.

If I encounter the bug again I will attempt to reconfirm that the quick fix is Exiting and Re-Entering 76. No promises though, I'm nuking the eggs on sight at this point

Uneducated guess;

Using Mutfruit as an example, once picked and it starts to grow back there's a fairly short period of time where you can see the Mutfruit on the bush, have an activator, yet you can't pick the fruit yet. It hasn't completely gone through the process of re-spawning.

In that same regard my guess is that someone had already got to the eggs, they were going through the process of re-spawning, weren't done yet and the ones you tried to pick up but they just broke, were the ones that have Hatchlings in them once the respawn is complete. Any that will be able to be picked up probably showed as being a complete egg, yet nothing happened when you tried to pick them up.

did you try taking it a step further by dropping it on the ground and looting it after sell/buy back

PS: Doesnt work, i found another and tried to sell 1, drop another, buy again 1, drop 2 down and recover both, nothing, multiple ID for same item?
