"I Am Become Death" quest completed itself
i was pretty much afk in my friend's camp watching and giving him suggestions on his camp when suddenly the quest just finished itself.

i literally didn't touch the quest because i have recently killed 10 legendary enemies to get the rank of general, and that was done. But the next quest "I Am Become Death", i left it to do later when suddenly a steam achievement of said quest just popped.

Did i miss something important or should i really not care about it?

I wish mine had completed itself.
I also don't know if i was supposed to receive another quest after this one, because i didn't, i have zero primary quests now
This happened to me. I suspect that another member of a casual team that I was on at the time, completed the quest, and I received the award by proxy.
The server recognize swag walk and street cred.

This is the answer. I wish it didn't happen this way though.
Yup I had this too, I decided to casually try launching a nuke, but didnt know there was a timer so was taking my time going through the facility, and then failed because of time.

A few days later randomly I just got the achievement from someone else launching the nuke lol.
same, so now i know why, i have always wondered how that poped up when i never launched a nuke

Don't worry you probably would have to look up anyway as they way it's presented in game... yeah, not good.

You need a nuclear keycard - one of the terminals in the enclave base can help with that. Nukacrypt for the launch code - just type "nukacrypt" into google and it will take you to the site. The rest you can get from a U tube video.

I absolutely do. Not everyone enjoys launching missiles; in fact a good number of people that rather enjoy blowing the heads off green dudes would rather not emulate nuclear launches - it's kinda anti- the theme of the rest of the Fallout series (dealing with the FALLOUT of nukes that already destroyed human civilization).

IMHO it's one of the only significant choices you can make in game.

I appreciate that some people don't want to launch a nuke. But they shouldn't get credit for it then.

I refuse to "kill a wendigo in a clown suit". So I have that mission sitting out there, and it will be sitting out there as long as I am playing the game. I shouldn't get credit and look like I have done it just because someone else does it.

Agreed. But another story option with lesser reward should have been available. It's like that was the point that any concept of story line or factional differentiation was given up on for "mushroom clouds are cool, and that hasn't been done extensively in other fallouts and it got great reviews for NV." Even the founder of Steam knows the value of the Big Booms and kinda paved the way there.

Unless they're doing a Saints Row intro (you play as the US president, wing-suit out of a plane, and defuse an active nuclear bomb that's armed and in flight to its destination) the big boom really doesn't do much for people who can't get past the effects in the real world to find it entertaining. Pressing that button would probably make me stop playing 76 for good.

As it stands it's a gimmick to replace a story or factions or a lot of other content they added, so it passes as a game mechanic I dislike. What is that old saying, 'easier to destroy than to build'? I guess if it got the game out the door for us I'll take it.
